2010 : Q & A is the way we care and share
When Sue sends a reply to a mobile phone there is no guarantee that you will or even can read all the specially written notes and articles.
1 Please check up on the website if you need to read the documents again.
2 Make use of the zip folder section on topics as they are compact.
3 Use SEARCH box to see previous Q & A topics and FAQ.
4 Please download the attachments to your PC or tablet reader if they are difficult to read.
5 You can also print out information, especially protocols to keep and refer to.
6 The information needs to be studied and applied as it is the key to “helping yourself to health.”
Weigh-Less versus blood type. How about gluten?
Q1 On the Healthy Happy Eating Plan, how much of everything is one supposed to eat at any one time. I have been on Weigh-Less and am so used to weighing my food. I have a carb and sugar craving and I am sure my aches and pains are caused by all the sugar and starches. I do not really eat potatoes or rice a lot. Only wholewheat bread and muesli. Could you please let me know. Much appreciated. Regards Hettie
A1 Gluten intolerance sounds like a problem. If you are eating food in conflict with the blood type the smallest amount will cause weight gain. Here is more info that may really help to kick off the kilo’s! Love, Sue
Blood type O gains weight after diet.
Q1 How can one get tested to find out which secretor type i am, i am currently blood type o negative. I lost a lot of weight end of last year and have put all the weight plus since then and i excerse everyday and watch what i eat and still put all this weight on which has made me a very depressed person please advise me. Thank you.
A1 I have attached some information for you. Weight gain after starvation can lead to a number of consequences:
1 Reverse thyroid hormone. See notes on Heavy metal and rT3.
2 Insulin resistance. See blood sugar and syndrome X
3 A prediabetic state associated with PCOS.
4 An underlying gluten and especially wheat intolerance will sabotage any slimming attempts.
There is more help and support on our website: www.naturefresh.co.za
A quick way out is to follow our MEGASLIM protocol. It is gluten free and as an O with carbohydrate and weight issues, you seem good with lentils, bad with soya and bad with chick peas. Sure evidence that you are O non-secretor. a kinesiologist will be able to test you according to the lists in my book, should you need more evidence.
Blood type O secretor status is essential. They are different.
All the best for a successful melt down! Love, Sue
Response: Thank you so much for your email much appreciated.
Q 1 Bought your book yesterday. It has so much interesting& useful info in it. I look forward to using the info to help with my food intolerances& fibromyalia.
Is it crucial to know your secretor status or can one still benefit from eating for your blood type by just following the lists for eg O blood, without looking at secretor status?
A1 The two O’s are very different. Use the list on the pink O-pages and get
it right. A kinesiologist or someone who can do muscle testing can help
you. You seem to be good on lentils and weak on soya – for instance.
Q2 Thank you so much for your reply. I did go to a kinesiologist a few wks ago & again earlier today (to a health shop) to double check. Guess I didn’t trust I & I guess I just don’t want to know I’m an o non-secretor because that limits the food I can eat even further! Feeling very upset about that & now u’ve just triple confirmed it 🙂 Anyway, I’ve got your book to help me & I’ve just bought Eat Right 4ur Type – Allergies. & ur website has also been a great help!
A2 Sorry, we can’t change the blood type or the secretor status. At best we can make your eating experiences as pleasant and therapeutic as possible! My daughter and her husband the same blood type – plus they are vegetarians. They eat well, and exclude gluten. See Vivienne’s recipes. Plenty more on the website, as you have seen. Keep in touch.
Q3 I really do appreciate you always replying to my emails so promptly, and always with advice and added attachments with new info. I hope you don’t mind if I ask you a few questions. You are now my health “guru” – hope you’re ok with that 🙂
1) On the attachment that you sent (Vivienne’s recipes), I am assuming that Vivienne is your daughter. I see that in her recipes, she uses some ingredients from the “avoid” column for o non-secretors.
Eg: corn flour, apple, dates, apricots, white vinegar, cinnamon powder, sugar, vanilla essence, pecan nuts, coffee, cream, milk. My question: is that ok, or are those ingredients meant for others?
2) Alfalfa sprouts are in the “avoid” column. I’ve been drinking “The Real Thing” green power powder for a couple of years. One of the ingredients is alfalfa grass powder. Is it ok in that form?
3) I’ve just finished a bottle of your Parasite Remedy. Do I take a break before starting again?
4) I recently asked you about your calcium – magnesium powder vs ocean milk, and you did reply with some good information. I am still busy with the ocean milk. Is your product to use as well as, or instead of the ocean milk (when I finish my current bottle)? Also, when taking your powder, am I right in saying that I would not take other calcium & magnesium supplements?
I think that’s all for now. Once again, thanks for a most helpful book and website, as well as for your emails!
A3 1 You can treat Vivienne’s recipes strictly according to the lists if you want to be 100% compliant to every nitpicky detail of the blood type diet. At best most people comply with major food groups: the ones like bread, lentils, soya. They contain the most disruptive lectins and make the boggest difference. When it comes to a pinch of cinnamon or a sprinkle of this or that, you can decide for yourself.
Food lists on this website are not according to secretor/non secretor and can be confusing to O1 and O2.
Secretor status can be determined by a detailed blood analysis or by a trained kinesiologist
2 Alfalfa sprouts in excess every day are too stimulating to autoimmune conditions like Lupus, RA and inflammatory conditions.
3 Parasites. One week a month is fine. Worms breed every 3 weeks.
4 1 calcium supplement is OK. Why take more, you can only assimilate 180mg a day!
Sue’s Supplementation story. Formula for the fifties and beyond.
I suffered with haemoglobin of around 7 for most of my life. I had no luck with any of the usual supplementation. But here is a good twist! For the first time in my life I can now run for ages – 7k without stops instead of just battling round the block. Although I am very strong and fit and have 2 black belts, the aerobic side was difficult for me. At the age of 58 I now can run!
Here is the miracle: We bought loads of supplements to help Jim’s sister with Parkinson’s and she refused to take them. I took them instead and guess what – after 2 weeks I am transformed. There is new life, oxygen and energy coming in from somewhere. I am also, obviously in a strong, happy emotional space (always have been) and sleep much better.
Most people like to just chug along and put up with what getting older throws at you. Not me! A while ago I corrected iodine deficiencies during my research and the articles I wrote about Lugo’s iodine. But still no aerobic boost. I then did the heavy metal juicing and lights came on. Now with this new supplementation I feel even fitter and stronger. The menopause has just sailed past, thanks to MEGAMAX and MEGASLIM every day. And still no colds of flu for nearly 20 years!
Here are my new (rather costly) items but they work!
5HTP (hydroxytryprophan)
Lithium orotate by Solal
B6 50mg
My usual supplementation:
1 Megslim 1 Megamax before breakfast (We are researching long term effects.)
1 Ladyvite mature or slow release multi-vitamin.
B5 (calcium pantethonate) 100mg. By mistake Jim bought the 500mg capsules, so I take one and can truly say it helps with low blood sugar and appetite control, it’s good for adrenals ans somehow it completed the missing link.
Vital cod liver oil or huge Omega 3 fish oil capsules. (Yes, even as a vegetarian!)
Before running 2 – 3 mornings a week I also take our Coleus tincture.
Before supper: Solgar HCL and d igestive bitters I make myself.
Bedtime: Calcium Complex powder.
Now for a better alternative:
You can have this as a pick me up between meals.
1 teaspoon calcium complex powder
1 teaspoon Xylitol (boosts calcium uptake)
1 teaspoon good quality cocoa powder (also boosts minerals)
1 teaspoon milk substitute (Cremora will do)
Add all to a mug of boiling water.
Enjoy for a chocolate “fix” and watch your fingernails get hard and strong!
Food for the day:
NO gluten or any flesh of any kind. Diet: O secretor, but a vegetarian.
Breakfast: 1 egg, usually an omelette on a huge pile of lettuce, tomato & onion with mayonnaise.
Snacks: apples, apples, apples. Nuts, rice crisps.
Limited coffee with a splash of milk. The new cocoa and calcium drink.
Lunch: a huge salad. Sometimes rice cakes with marmite if peckish.
Supper: Vegetables, vegetables, a little Feta cheese now and then.
I hope you too, find out what suits you and feel younger as you grow in strength and wisdom.
Best Regards, Sue

Q Contraceptives: Hi Please advice, which products can I use. About 2 months ago I had to go off all oral contraceptives due to migraines, but now my skin broke out in pimples. I also gained weight although doctors tried different contraceptives the migraines continued, untill i did not take them anymore I do no experience any migraines. Thanks Christa
A Contraceptives Hormones sure have complex interactions! When it comes to balancing out the ill effects of contraceptives ladies seem to come right with our chateberry (agnus castus) tincture. Pimples erupt with excessive estrogen and chasteberry boosts progesterone which helps with headaches. It also improves melatonin = better sleep.
If you wish to delve more into hormone balancing, please read the attached info. We try to get more good (2-type estrogen) instead of 16-estrogen. Have a look. www.naturefresh.co.za
All the best and I hope your hormones get real happy! Love, Sue
Blocked fallopian tubes, facial hair
Q) What do you have for blocked fallopian tubes and possible hormone imbalance, evident facial hair
A) We do not have any products that can unblock a fallopian tube. A gynaecologist would be more suitable to consult with for this problem. Usually the treatment is successful but it depends on the cause. If it is hormonal then at best we may be able to prevent further congestion.
Facial hair is a very vague diagnostic clue. It could be bulimia, anorexia or adrenal stress depending on what sort of hair, in this case soft and downy, on the cheeks. A testosterone imbalance causes male – type beard or moustache type of hair.
Please look at our website www.naturefresh.co.za

“Parabenoia”
Q1 I have been using your fluoride free toothpaste for years. I lived in the USA for some time and all ways shopped at Wholefoods, a natural food/product company. Here all products containing parabens are banned, so one can buy creams etc. without checking the contents. How big my disappointment was when I checked my Toothpaste from you and it contained Parabens!! I am now overseas again for a while and bought 3 tubes of your product!! Why make natural products when you use preserves like parabens!? I am truly disappointed and now do not know what to do with this toothpaste. If you want to be a natural product supplier then be a “NATURAL PRODUCT” supplier. Ryno Brits.
A1 Before you throw away your toothpaste, you may need to visit our website and learn what parabens are!
www.naturefresh.co.za
90% of our parabens come from dietary sources, such as mangoes, grenadillas, green tea, strawberries, etc. (Products claiming to be free of parabens that actually contain these ingredients are not telling the whole truth – or they do not contain the genuine mangoes, green tea, etc.) Parabens are one of the most abundant organic acids found in nature. Plants stay free of pathogenic infections, thanks to parabens they contain. Decomposed fruit then recycles with the parabens that break down into the soil to keep it healthy too. So why condemn them?
Kind regards
Q2 (Reply) Thanks for the info. I am obviously not informed enough on the subject and appreciate your reply. I have been told to stay away from parabens for several reasons. We had a health talk at work on this… I obviously need to study and investigate it more. I won’t be throwing away my toothpaste then.
A2 (reply) Thank you, thank you for having an open mind! We have a problem with people who do not wish to hear the truth about parabens. (Ha ha, and they drink diet Coke and stuff down GM wholegrains.) Why blame parabens! My latest passion is probiotics and now, a breast friendly deo-buster. On purpose I had exclude parabens , because of such “parabenoia”. Keep in touch. Love, Sue
Kind regards
Q3 (Reply) Thanks Sue. I will do so! I am currently in Korea and really struggle to get hold of natural products here especially deo-busters. It is humid down here.
I will stock up with Nature Fresh Products once I get back home again. You have a very interesting list of products.
Thanks again.
Blood type A1 seriously underweight!
Q1 )I first bought your book ‘Healthy Happy Eating’ about a year ago, and I must admit that when I first read it I thought it was very extreme….. I am 51 year old woman and I have been ill for the last 4 years, constant aching, nausea, recurrent gastritis, I have had herpes outbreaks for about the last 20 years! I am seriously underweight, 50kgs and I’m 1,73m tall. Doctors have ran many tests and have just discovered that I have an autoimmune disorder. Further tests haven’t as yet revealed what type of autoimmune disorder I have, but I’m sure they will find it soon. I also have severe osteoporosis, which was caused by an adenoma on my parathyroid. I have subsequently had it removed, but the damage was done. I find this so unfair as I have been a personal trainer for many years, and have prided myself on the fact that I exercised and ate wonderfully healthy foods, loads of fruit and veges especially.
I have been consulting with a dietician over the last year and we first tried the ‘anti gastritis diet’ which didn’t seem to help much with my aches and pains, but the gastritis is under control. We have now decided that I must follow my blood group diet. I am A Positive. So I took out your book from my study shelves and it has now become ‘My Bible’. I now realise that all my 51 years of ‘healthy eating’ of sweet potatoes, baked potatoes, salads with aubergines and tomatoes, bananas, mangoes, papino, coconut milk and chickpeas must have been very detrimental to my poor digestive system!
So, I have started eating correctly….. now eating foods I have never eaten before! My question to you Sue is…. If I have been eating wrongly for all these years, how long will it take for me to reverse it and to start feeling a difference?
A1 ) It is annoying when you think that your wonderfully “healthy” and dietician approved food has done so much damage. Unfortunately most practitioners try to ignore the fact that food reacts differently to each blood type. They think it is a waste of time and creates chaos at the dinner table. Sadly, the chaos is inside the person who develops inflammation and usually autoimmune disorders from eating according to standard medical diet plans.
The more you study the way food reacts in blood type A, you will see how bad some “health foods” like aubergines are for them. But this is more the case with A1, the A-secretors. You seem to fall into this category as you seem OK with wheat. Paw paws and papaya cause extreme wasting and weight loss. How do I know? I did this to my husband (A1) by giving him paw paws every morning. That is when I really began to take the blood type diet seriously.
Underweight is a big problem with this group. After 40, digestion is very poor with the stomach acid being too weak. Thus, one cannot digest and assimilate food properly. Especially; calcium. Also, infections are not controlled by stomach acid. A’s have a slack immune system at the best of times. However, when eating foods that cause inflammation, like aubergines, tomatoes and potatoes, beef and dairy products like milk the immune system can turn against itself and hence an autoimmune condition can develop.
A’s do not respond well to stress or strenuous exercise so their cortisol output gets prolonged. This weakens immunity and leaves the door open. Fever blisters and viral infections are common. So is Candidiasis.
We have a number of protocols to assist you and they can be downloaded in handy zip files from our website. From here you can print them out and make notes – highlight and make lists. I have attached a few for you to get on with.
It is not a case of how long you have eaten wrong, but how well you will implement the necessary changes to live according to your blood type. With some devoted effort and a positive mind set one can turn around within a month or two. I do not know where you live, but you could consult with a therapist who is familiar with blood type technology. Some can facilitate appropriate food sensitivity tests (kinesiology, BEST, SCIO, etc,) and recommend key supplements you need to speed up the process. Here are some suggestions:
1 Betaine HCL with pepsin. To improve food and calcium uptake
2 L- lyseine for fever blisters. Also take a full amino acid supplement or spirulina.
3 Cod liver oil capsules. Anti-inflammatory and rich in vitamin D
4 Have a look at the iodine article- we all need more!
5 Nature Fresh Parasite Remedy
6 Nature Fresh Probiotics to correct underlying problems
7 Nature Fresh Calcium complex.
Blood type O1 and A2 – what to eat, how to test?
Q1 ) Dear Sue, My husband is A2 and I am O1 and we have been on your diet for 4 months and are seeing Dr. Spies. Could you help please with a few questions? As a result of cutting out potatoes and wheat we are both getting rather thin which we don’t need. Wheat does not agree at all with Don but how often can we indulge and have a roast potato? Is goat’s yogurt ok? I am trying to find a couple of recipes, for cup cakes (like the one made from Quinoa at Sugar Plum Cafe which she will not reveal) and also a pastry recipe for apple tart. Why is mutton allowed but not lamb ? Sorry about all the questions but we are struggling with the change. I have not found your baking recipes easy as I have your book, and the fruit cake went into the dustbin. Looking forward to your next book. Regards,
A1 )I am O1 and Jim is A1, so we also miss our potatoes. We seem OK with 1 or two potatoes a week. They are boiled in their jackets, baked or roasted and cherished with butter. For the rest, we eat rice cooked with 1/4 quinoa, gluten free pasta and our “mashed potato” made of turnips, sweet potato and parsnips when we can get them.
I have provided some of our favourite recipes. Viv’s gluten free recipes are really good, as her husband (O2) is gluten intolerant. Some products often give recipes on their custom made flours or mixtures. You can get quinoa flour, but mix it 1:3 with rice. Butter, eggs and brown sugar are important for traditional cup cakes, I think.
On our website we have a gluten free zip folder for more. I am publishing the 3rd round of my book. Sorry the recipes are not easy. There are 8 groups and at best, I try to give guidelines for no eggs, no gluten. Some of my efforts turn out like building materials! No single flour behaves like good old wheat!
Q:) I am keen to know how Dr Spies determines your secretor status. Please let me know, because it is such a problem in SA without a proper saliva test. People are wary of using my lists or trusting a muscle test – let alone a pendulum!
Reply: Dear Sue, Thank you so much for your reply and all the useful advice. Sorry about the delay in getting back to you but Dr. Spies’ medication made us both rather unwell. Dr. S determines the secretor status
by means of a blood test and says it is 80% accurate. He said siliva tests are not available. Apparently 8 out of ten people tested get a result. The other two the lab. is unable to establish the status. I asked if it would be different if a siliva test was done and he said not. I am quite happy to use the muscle testing but we have not perfected it yet. Not keen on the pendulum as I can’t understand it. Glutageon have come out with a Gormet Pasta which has egg in it and is a different colour, more yellow, and we find that very good. I presume it is wheat not gluten that is the problem? We have got to the stage now of being more confident with the diet and are starting to test our reaction to different foods. Being O (sec.) I have a stronger digestion than my husband who is A (non). I have ordered the 365 Quinoa book and will see what it has to offer. Looking forward to your new book. Take care, and thanks again.
Sue: Thank you for the feedback about secretor testing. Practice makes perfect!
Testing secretor status with a muscle test
Q1 )I thoroughly enjoyed your talk on Friday but when trying to convey it to my husband, I couldn’t get the kinesiology to work for me. He is a medical doctor and consequently thinks I am mad and doesn’t believe a word of what I told him.
A1 ) I use kinesiology or any form of muscle testing when I give a public talk – especially to sceptics, “scientists” and doctors. The crowds love it. It shows quite dramatically how a person cannot tolerate a cell phone in terms of bio resonance. It breaks the circuit, as does an offending food sample. I pack different food samples into black boxes and nobody knows – the arm just gets strong or collapses. We tally the results and then let them open the boxes. This prevents a mind-bending influence or any form of prejudice. The results are then ticked off on the specific pages in my book that deal with the secretor and non secretor variants for each blood type.
When you openly give most people the slice of bread test knowingly, they try their best to keep the arm resisting. Nuh! The joke is with brown sugar – arm weak. Then I tell them I am testing white sugar. The arm strengthens, because I put xylitol (a low GI beneficial sugar) in the box and it looks like white sugar. In this way one can become very adept at muscle testing.
O type intolerant of magnesium
Q1 ) Dear Sue If I take any form of Magnesium at all & Ive tried every one incl nature fresh, after 1-2 days I get cramps in my calves and shoulders, feel tense and trembly & headachy. I once did the liver flush and reacted badly with cramps and terrible palpitations.a recent vega test shows an intolerance. I worry though that i dont recieve enough. I now only take it in tissue salt form and occasionally the spray but wondered if you know of any other remedy besides food.the pure coco powder also causes reactions. Iam 55, O type, gluten intolerant & eat blood type accordingly, except no red meat, but all other protien. thank you
A2 ) Let us shed some light on the magnesium. My latest investigations about insulin resistance show that this condition causes antagonism in terms of calcium and magnesium uptake. Who knows, this may be the monster lurking in the bundle: insulin resistance.
There is no shortage of magnesium in leafy green vegetables but your uptake and tolerance may be impaired. I wonder how you may react to a foot bath containing a few tablespoons of Epsom salts?
Perhaps a homeopath could recommend a higher magnseium potency to correct it? Ask at Steps to Health in Diep River.
Blood type O has two variants. I suggest you follow the non-secretor lists, especially if you are gluten intolerant. Non-secretors have a big problem with sugars and carbohydrates. You seem good with lentils, bad with soya and chick peas, for instance.
Vegetarians may fall for soya, being a protein – but first test your tolerance. Soya is neutral with O secretors, but bad news for non-secretors. I am glad to hear that cocoa is rich in magnesium. I now mix cocoa powder with our calcium and magnesium powder with xylitol. It improves the uptake of calcium and magnesium. I found it really works. My 3 weeks of having a delicious drink like this every day made my hair and fingernails sprout out longer and stronger than ever. Proof enough of an enhanced mineral uptake. So look into xylitol as a sugar alternative but do not exceed 4 teaspoons a day.
I hope these suggestions trigger off some effective solutions to the cause or treatment of the magnesium problem.
ME chronic fatigue nutritionists did not help her
Q ) Hi I am very confused and upset after reading briefly browsing your website. I was diagnosed with ME 5 yrs ago and was so ill that I couldn’t get out of bed. I consulted a natural doctor in Jnb who put me on a diet and vegetable juices. I eventually got better only to relapse again and then feel better again. We emigrated to the UK and moved back last year Dec as I had a relapse in the UK and just never got better. I also developed an iron deficiency in the UK. I’ve been ok since being back (by ok I mean I’m not couch or bedridden).
My diet has been quite bad. I noted the blood type diet, BEST test and also candida comments on your website. My husband has spent thousands on tests/nutrionists and nothing has worked completely therefore I’ve also given up on eating only healthy foods and eat gluten/wheat/sugar.
During all this time I haven’t managed to clear my vaginal thrush!!! Even when I eat healthily – if I just eat one wrong thing it’s back! I used to eat yoghurt every day and all my tests could not show up anything and now I read on your website yoghurt is not good???!!!
Please could you let me know whether I should go for a BEST or Scio test and if the live blood analysis works as I’ve spent a fortune on blood tests but all come back as negative. I’ve been had saliva tests and hair tests sent off with no results. My nutritionist in the UK who ordered the last tests recommended glutamine for my leaky gut/candida which I never took.
Any sound good advice will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot
A ) You are one of many that have this problem. You do get disillusioned, I know. It is not about the money you spend. One cannot buy good results with expensive doctors or treatments. All you need is the right direction and some common sense. I do research and write about it for free! But you have to work at the diet and discipline to get the results. You also have to start believing that you can do it. You can!
1 The best diet in the world is not going to get rid of microbes and parasites that cause ME. They may help though; if they suit you and your blood type. This principle is inconvenient for most of them. Most of the media touts “eating healthily”. Did it work for you? There is a lot of confusion but they can still charge a fortune for what they say or do. You pay regardless.
2 A typical “nutritionist” does not believe we have intolerances based on our different blood types. Some of them don’t even understand the gluten or wheat problem. They think whole wheat is even healthier! These days most wheat is heavily GM and generates universal gluten sensitivity in a lot more people. Dairy? Look what has happened to milk – hormones, antibiotics and even cannibalism.
3 Deal with parasites. Also get a zapper for daily control. People who use our olive leaf tablets are usually free of systemic candidasis within 2-4 weeks. The Parasite Remedy has helped ME and CFS patients to lead a better life. A school teacher found a big step up from taking the olive leaf tincture. I gave her a sample of Parasite Remedy and she found even greater improvement.
4 The BEST and SCIO systems can list your microbial / parasite load. People are strange about candida. It is a species of benign yeast that all people have. It grows and feeds our friendly bacteria known as probiotics. So if you are deficient in probiotics you get too much yeast. The body then converts it into fungal or mould-like forms. 72 types of infections then can manifest as a result of being deficient in effective probiotics. (Please see the information about PROBIOTIC-15 to understand why we need more strains to grow inside us.)
5 Now you will be asking about the yoghurt! It only provides one measly strain: lactobacillus acidophillus. Coming with that is a lot of extra nutrition, the favourite food of two pathogens that cause leaky gut namely giardia and gardenerella lambus. How do we get rid of these nasties? Olive leaves! How do we control the microbes that “morph” from the surplus candida? Olive leaves! When I challenged a therapist to only give olive leaf and cut out the yoghurt, his patients immediately improved. A doctor had over 20 long term “candida” patients. Within 1 month of olive leaf tablet treatment they came right. Some of them still took yoghurt – oh well, not everybody has leaky gut.
6 As for vaginal thrush, this is interesting. We make tea tree based cleansers and lubricants that are helpful in most cases. Alkaline soaps exacerbate the problem. The friendly bacteria can only survive in an acidic medium, so I formulated these products to be acidic. Liquid probiotics are provided in a lactic acid medium. This is ideal for vaginal health. PROBIOTIC-15 can be diluted 5ml to 500ml and used as a douche in addition to the intimate products we make.
7 Glutamine is brilliant for the digestive system, especially the damaged gut lining. The body uses glutamine from expensive supplements the same way it does MSG. Both get converted to the alkaline chemical called glutamate. Yes, both the “evil, alien Chinese poison MSG” and your glutamine becomes the same thing so what does one believe? Please refer to the article I wrote about it. Taking the supplement on an empty stomach is risky because it can cause hypoglycaemia. (Yes, people don’t want to know this.)
I hope this clears up the problems. Also see the notes about vaginal problems. I worked as a researcher for a gynaecologist for over 10 years and he supervised the writing of this material, based on the questions he asked me on a constant basis about this little place.
Regards, Sue Visser
Malaria prevention. Alcohol in a tincture?
Q1) Dear Sue I will be visiting Botswana (in September) and Addis Ababa (in October). Please advise on natural remedies for malaria. For Ethiopia, I’ve had vaccinations for yellow fever, Hep A and meningitis. The Travel Clinic advised that Addis Ababa is not a malaria zone, but I would like to take precautions. Thank you, Nuraan
A1) The best options for Malaria are our olive leaf tablets or Parasite Remedy. We take Parasite Remedy when we travel and stay free of malaria and especially gut bugs from suspect food and water. I also take a small bottle of Lugol’s iodine and some Propolis tincture as a precaution. So far so good. Have a great trip!
We are going to Botswana next week, so thanks for reminding us. We will take our muthi regardless.
Q2 ) Thank you for this information. I noticed that the parasite remedy has alcohol – is this appropriate for Muslims to use? What is the dosage for the olive leaf tablets? (how many, how soon to take before travelling, when to stop use, etc) Thank you,
Alcohol in a remedy: some Muslims do, some don’t. If it is medicinal, most say it is OK. It does not have an intoxicating effect – tastes awful too! It can be added to ½ glass warm water to evaporate it out for 1 hour or overnight. Thus, take it in the morning, prepare it at night. We have 1-2 teaspoons a day. Yuk!
A2 ) Have a look at the malaria advice for olive leaf guidelines. 2 tabs a day is usually good. Or 2x a day if it is wet and mosquitoes are around. But the side effect is lowering blood pressure, so compensate with more salt, or liquorice.
Attached is the natural treatment we use if there is a serious infection (and no doctor around)
On our website, you will see the 3 cyclists who are going from Cape to Cairo. They use our products and are already in Tanzania. We are proud to sponsor them – to very good effect. www.naturefresh.co.za
A bite from a Sand Fly nearly killed me!
Q ) I have a mother who recently travelled to Israel and Palestine and apparently have been bit by a sandfly, as far as our Doctors here in Cape Town there is no cure and not much we can do. I was told by a friend about naturefresh.
A ) My question ! Is there any natural remedy that can be used or applied
Yes, a good suggestion to ask me. Many years ago I too was bitten by a sand fly after a trip to Zanzibar. I recovered fully but am happy to share my story with you and perhaps it will help others too.
In Cape Town you can see any practitioner who has a Rife machine, BEST, SCIO or similar apparatus to kill the infection. It is not the sand fly, but the microbe it carries. In some species, depending on the infection, it only affects the skin where you are bitten. Terrible sores break out in big areas and may be due to bacteria. I have seen it in Indonesia and other places on tourists’ arms and legs. I gave them our Parasite Remedy from my first aid kit or the First Aid Balm we make. Propolis tincture is good to put on infected sores and some health shops sell it. But clean the bite with any disinfectant you can get hold of at the time. Try iodine or peroxide or antibotic cream.
In my case it was: Leichmania Tropicana, a sand fly with a protozoa type infection. The site of the bite begins with a watery blister and develops a few days later into a purple crater and in the centre is a white plug of fatty material. I was studying Body Talk and made this diagnosis with the help of their muscle testing technique and an old text book on tropical diseases. I was not pleased to see that the diarrhoea and high fever could kill a person after a few days. Fortunately I was taking a lot of our Nature Fresh parasite Remedy and the fever abated. I then needed probiotics to correct the bowel problem as I was passing water and chunks of undigested food. It worked!
Advice to anybody who sees these little flies is to watch out for a bite that makes a watery blister. I usually pop and disinfect it immediately. The time I scratched the bite and left it untreated was when I became ill. Never again!
Response) Thank you very much for your response and assistance highly appreciated
Restless legs, sensitivities, gluten intolerance
Q1 )Dear Sue If I take any form of Magnesium at all & Ive tried every one incl nature fresh, after 1-2 days I get cramps in my calves and shoulders, feel tense and trembly & headachy. Iam 55, O type, gluten intolerant & eat blood type accordingly, except no red meat, but all other protien. thank you.
A2 )Let us shed some light on the magnesium.
Kind regards
Hi Sue
Q2 ) Thanks so much for your reply and all the info. As usual you are a mine of information. I remember speaking to you a number of years ago and I was very impressed at your knowledge.
Yes I am ok with Epsom salt baths etc.
I will speak to homeopath re mag potency
My friend has a Karnac machine which showed my blood sugar to be low, and I often feel as if it is- a small piece of liquorice helps- but the next day I did a fasting blood sugar finger prick test and it was within normal. When I have checked my sugar before its always been a bit low to normal. And I am not at all overweight. But do have a pretty big appetite.
Do you think I need to do further test for insulin resistance anyway?
I will go and get a secretor test just to make sure of my diet.
I eat pretty well but I am always a bit tired since I got tick bite, followed by glandular, then Epstein Barr 8 years ago. H Pylori & Candida aslo showed up.
The thing I don’t like is that I often am prone to fever blisters on mouth & in nose, especially if I go into environments that are heated hot, fireplaces, air conditioned cold, sun, cold wind, and over heating, even If I am giving a massage. I always feel I am pending for a cold too, in these environments.
Also been flaring of late if I drink red wine, which I love on a weekend, A bit of lint Chocolate which I’ve now cut out, and almonds witch I’ve reduced as concern too much Argenine.
I take a bunch of nutrients, incl Green Vibrance with Sole In the am, Bio Strath & Spiriluna before lunch with Solal Digestive Enzymes/Prpbiotic, omega 3s & E, vit B complex, The Real thing vit C Ester, Msm, and D3 and lots of L-Lycine at present.
I thought there might be a link to adrenal fatigue and cold sores & the Karnac verified low adrenal function on left side, also H.Pylori back with a bit of candida and Parasites in colon at present, now I’ve added Metagenics Adrenogen to the mix.
As well as as Per Your Parasites in Paradise article, Olive leaf, Propolis Tincture & Para 90, also as today I got Arsenicum Alb a Homeopath remedy for Adrenal/cold sores, we can get the mix OTC at our Chemist.
But I don’t want to get the Mag potency OTC but wait for Homeopath to get Back from holiday, just in case. It just seems like so much stuff to take all the time.
Gee Sue sorry Long story . . . .
But the question is after reading your Lugols Iodine article, I got some, But I am not sure how much of a dose to take because of what I am already taking and there is kelp 350g, rockweed 350g, spirilina 100g in the Real thing Vit C Ester 1000 Combo per 2 tabs & Ive been taking twice a day.
Can you advise please?
Many thanks for all your time, dedication & wisdom in the field of health.
Luv & blesses
A2 ) I do not charge for advice. It is free to accept or reject!
I am interested in the Karnak device. Where is your friend? If it can accurately pick up food sensitivities it will be useful for determining blood type and secretot status. I can refer many patients to somebody with this ability. Please send me her details.
Your fever blisters are a mystery as you are already wise about arginine and L-lysine. We make a topical product called herpes that contains lysine. Applying propolis tincture or oregano oil will kill any bacterial piggy-backing on a lesion.
Have you tried Rife or zapping to reduce your parasite load? It can work well if you first take a whack of our Parasite Remedy beforehand and then do the 3 zap cycles. Best combined with 1/2 teaspoon propolis (for helicobacter pylori) tincture and 4 drops of Lugol’s. After that, take calcium and magnesium at bed time to clear away the corpses!
Blood sugar control will alleviate the need to test for insulin resistance. Just eat nourishing food what suits you (blood type) and this will reduce inflammation, the need for excessive supplementation and your parasite load. It will help the adrenals as well. Many peiople do not tolerate or benefit from seaweed or fishy forms of iodine. Luglol’s is hard to overdose on because you just pee out the excess.
Have a look at the attachments.
All the best, Sue
Q & A series: Nature Fresh guide to “low libido” problems www.naturefresh.co.za
By health researcher and product developer for Nature Fresh July 2011
Q:) Please can you help me. I struggle with my libido, it seems I do not have one at all and after 14 years my husband feels very, very rejected. I do not know what is wrong but need to change the situation ASAP. Can you suggest any of your products? Thank you so much.
A: )Thanks for being so honest! Ladies (me included) have a problem in keeping up with the pre-conceived idea that all females have the libido of a rabbit on heat. We do not have the same hormonal setup as men. We are very different to how the media make us “ought to be”. Of course, there are plenty of products to boost a libido and often this is a good way to spark off a pleasurable round of sex. But it is not an honest solution. First take time to look at the causes and you will soon hear bells ringing!
I would prefer to share with you a way to deal with the problem older women have, especially after being married for many years. Our hormones change. During child bearing years we have a lot of oestrogen in our systems. This inhibits sexuality and one becomes moody and broody, like a hen on eggs. Furthermore, the hormone prolactin causes water retention and very sore, often engorged breasts and boosts moodiness. Ladies on hormonal contraception have a big problem, because those drugs deprive one of vitamin B6 and magnesium. This makes the prolactin levels flare up. Vitamin B6 alleviates the sore breasts, the PMS and water retention. So take more of it as well as your daily multivitamin for a start.
Consider the adverse effects of medications you take. For high blood pressure many people use Nature Fresh olive leaf tablets, which also boost circulation. (Pelvic area included!) Antidepressants and sleeping pills are getting a bad name and are notorious for dragging the libido into the ditch. First get to the cause of why your libido is missing. (It isn’t really). The problem may be drug related. Natural supplement alternatives for depression include Lithium orotate, 5HTP and omega-3 oil in large quantities. Therapies include hypnotism and body stress release, aromatherapy, more exercise and meditaion.
Ladies tend to relax during menstrual cycles and regard this as their time off, a phase when they are free of guilt and obligation towards sex. The week before, they can be excused for PMS and headaches. That leaves two weeks a month where there are no excuses. A husband without regular sex can adapt, but his hormones get ratty and both of you by this time are in need of a little sexual relief.
Most ladies need a regular sex injection, especially for the benefits that it brings in terms of generating feel-good hormones. They say it is one of the keys to longevity and this is why humans have sexual intercourse beyond the reproductive stage of their lives. For men it is essential. Just be glad he is feeling rejected because many husbands sleep in separate bedrooms due to side effects of medications that can cause depression, insomnia and erectile dysfunction. Some men suffer from infections, prostate dribbles and snoring. Poor wife!
I know what you are thinking. You have heard it all before, but you can’t get yourself to “want” sex. You are not alone. Is this why prostitutes sell sex? I have stiff talks to my peers and convince them it is OK to not feel turned on. Some of us like to swim but hate to jump into the water. Often you “get what you have been nagging hubbie for after a good bonk”, a friend confessed to me. She shops at expensive boutiques. Commit yourself, set aside some time and just do it! One can play pretend and make the opening moves once you have read the rest this letter for some suggestions. Surprise him and soon you will begin to enjoy it.
One does not have to become a porn star either, but a little lubricant can go a long way. Believe it or not, some ladies use the dry, sore vagina as an excuse. Poor husband! The HRT is supposed to alleviate this problem but causes them to get all moody and broody again. HRT keeps you in bondage and affects blood clotting, heart conditions and cancer. Rather eat 2 – 3 teaspoons of ground-up flaxseeds a day and stop when it gets too slippery down there. We make a range of personal water-based lubricants. Wild rose is good for both – I know!
Some ladies are self conscious about body odour. We developed a special intimate body wash to correct this problem as it is pH related. Soap causes the vaginal membranes to attract bacteria due to it being to alkaline. An acid based cleanser prevents this. The lubricants are also acid based for this reason. The Nature Fresh intimate vaginal cleansers can be used as a douche, in the shower or even as a bubble bath and as you will find out, there is no more irritation or embarrassment
Next you can attend to hormonal upsets. As an alternative to HRT and all the risks and disadvantages it causes, look at herbal hormone balancing tinctures. They cover a variety of symptoms and finding the right one brings significant relief to hot flushes, depression, sleeping problems and even water retention.
For older ladies, a top up of testosterone is highly recommended. MEGAMAX is a special formulation for men and women in this regard and does not stimulate the release of harmful (DHT) testosterone. It gives you oomph and reduces levels of prolactin. It helps with adrenal fatigue.
Another hormonal problem from ladies who are overloaded with oestrogen – either from contraceptives or from HRT is a sluggish thyroid. Here again, is a huge turn off. Hair thins out, weight creeps up and the sex drive all but dies out. Nature Fresh has a Coleus tincture to help in this regard. Often a dietary intolerance also affects the way one feels. For a month, it is a good idea to eliminate all wheat from the diet. In some cases all gluten should be excluded. You may object, but try it. This simple (yet difficult) step will give you a good idea of how it feels to be normal in terms of hormones and immune-related issues! There is plenty of support for gluten exclusion and hormonal problems on our website.
In an experiment salesmen were sprayed with oxytocin and it generated more business with their customers. Oxytocin is a naturally generated hormone that brings out trust and closeness in people. Breast feeding mothers have high levels of oxytocin so they can bond with their offspring. Sleeping together stimulates the release of this “cuddle hormone” between you and your husband. In the mornings, testosterone is at its peak. So this is a good time to continue with what comes naturally and take advantage of that high rise. You are relaxed, warm and close with no distractions. Set the alarm clock a little earlier sometimes.
So do not worry if you don’t feel in the mood for sex. Don’t keep telling yourself that you have libido problems because you will perpetuate the problem. The brain is the largest sex organ in the body, so change it. Men can’t turn it off, so they can help you to turn it on! Keep this letter in a safe place and read it from time to time. Then, at a suitable moment, just do it. Soon, as many ladies have told me – they get into the habit and yes, they enjoy sex. How I wish I had read this letter 35 years ago!
1 Take a multivitamin and 50 – 100mg extra vitamin B6
2 Eat 2 – 3 teaspoons of ground-up flaxseeds if there are sore, dry vaginal problems. Or use Nature Fresh Wild Rose for all sorts of massages and topical treatment. (Make sure you get more than he does!)
3 For hormones, you can choose from: red clover, black cohosh, red sweet potato or chasteberry in the Nature Fresh Range.
4 Consider: MEGAMAX from Nature Fresh to boost testosterone and dopamine. It helps to reduce dopamine, as does vitamin B6.
5 Attend to thyroid problems. Look at Nature Fresh Coleus tincture and gluten exclusion. There are a lot of recipes and protocols on the website. Lose weight with the MEGASLIM protocol if you are obese.
6 Look at your medications. Consult with a skilled therapist to help you make adjustments and find alternatives.
7 Most of all, stop that looping worry about libido. Just make the commitment and it will creep up on you.
Kind regards, Sue Visser
Details on liver and gall flushing
Q) What foods should i avoid with gall stones. i am currently doing the parasite cleansing and will then do the gall and liver detoxt but want to know what to avoid in the mean time. many thanks Denise
A) Sorry for the delay – I was tied up. I am glad you are doing the parasite cleanse in preparation of the gall flushing.
Gallstones are often caused by eating – believe it or not, wheat! (90% of removal surgery is the result.) It does not cure the problem.
1 Eat for your blood type. Only blood type A-secretor and AB can handle wheat products.
2 Go easy on fat, other than omega-3 from oily fish, walnuts, flaxseeds, etc.
3 A major cause of excess liver fats is insulin resistance. Go low on all refined carbohydrates and sugars that turn into fat.
4 Some people feel better on an all gluten exclusion diet. Read the article to see if this may apply to you.
5 I have attached some all-type food suggestions. Before and after the flush you need to eat mainly vegetables and fruit, plus the foods that suit your blood type.
I hope this will provide the information you require. Happy flushing!
Blood type A tries to gain weight Body builder and personal trainer.
Q 1) Hoping you can help – I do a lot of training – weight training2-3 times per week – boxing 1-2times per week
and various other sports like cycling tennis etc – I am also ecto-mesomorphic – needles to say i have to make a special effort in terms of diet to sustain my muscle and weight! Energy is not a problem just the weight I”ve been a personal trainer for 8 years and has done thousends of hours of research on training and diet so I am carefull not to overtrain! I love being active and outdoors so always feel like I want to do more but I make
sure I say no sometimes and get enough rest.
I use 500ml of organic raw milk per day
100grams of almonds
2-4eggs
200-250grams of chicken or fish or meat
50-100 grams of cheese (every second day)
1 big green salad
and stif fry veggies
and potatoe and sweet potatoe
green vibrance shake
1-2tablespoons of hempseed protein powder
(it doesnt mix that well so about as much as I can safely get down)
I dont eat grains – they mess up my digestion and get back pain
I tried organic sprouted brown rice protien once and was cripple for 2 days!!
I am a type A+ – teacher type
I cannot eat anymore animal protein – My Digestion feels over whelmed and I feel sluggish – like al my
enegy goes into digestion – and my body gets acidic – I AM TAKING YOU’RE CALCIUM POWDER EVERY NIGHT Whey Protein gives me diary and casein gives me sinus pain – and more than 500ml milk does the same! I dont use soy protein because of the phyto estrogens
The only other protien I have found is Pea protien isolate – I can get non GM organic from aus or US But shipping is to expensive to make it an option
Anything else you can recommend?
OR any chance you can produce a pea protein isolate for us here in south africa
Please let me know Sincelerely Anton Huisamen
A1 ) I am familiar with your problem. You and my husband Jim share it, remember? Jim has been taking soya protein isolate shakes, mixed with Morvite – a sorghum cereal and some cocoa powder. It is good for body building. He used to take the commercial muscle mass mixtures but we found out two things:
1 Albumin destroys biotin availability and this affects muscle gain – also makes hair fall out?? (Not him)
2 Whey protein is not really good for A’s
He is now strictly eating for blood type a-secretor. he does tolerate wheat, but we have limited him to rye. He takes MEGAMAX every morning. Tribulus when training.
Have a look at millet, quinoa, amarynth. For more protein we buy the split yellow peas from the spice shop in Kenilworth Centre and cook them up. cheap and delicious and served in many ways. Try it. Much cheaper than the isolate. See recipes. There more in my book on page 118. But I have found out that large amounts of peas (or isolate?) can cause infertility in males and females.
Keep in touch – you and Jim are fit, lean mean machines. I prefer slim men to bulgy, impotent blimps who need to wear a bra! Love, Sue
Q 2 ) Thanks very much for that Sue! Yes I remember Jim is also type A and similar metabolism! Very interesting about the albumin and biotin! And all the attachments!
More Q&A pls:
Q1:) I Mix raw egg yolk with raw milk for breakfast sometimes – and cook the
egg white for omellette is that ok? Egg white is also albumin?
Does heating the white help??
A 1:) Eggs should be cooked. The whites contain albumin. Raw eggs are often infected with salmonella bacteria. Why not have a proper omelette?
Q2: So you don’t have any worries about the soy protein for type A then?
I have used it in the past and actually feels good on it – I dont think it affects
my hormones and it defnitely suits my digestion! I just read so much bad about
it that I decided to stop using it – from fertility to thyroid problems etc?
A2: You and Jim do not suffer from an estrogen excess, so relax about the thyroid that results from slower metabolism caused by soya.
Q3: I use to make it with coconut milk, maca powder, macadamia oil, raw cocoa powder and
agave( small amount ) – I used the HEALTH CONNECTIONS PURE PROTEIN (its unflavoured), would you recommend another brand?? – I also read that it gets washed with chemicals to destroy compounds to make it fit for human consuption??
A3: We use the protein from Health connection. It is best to stay away from any soya bean that has the skin on, like some of the soya milks. Just the protein.
Q4: Is vitamite similar to morevite?
A4: Morevite is a pre-cooked sorghum cereal. Dunno what vitamite is.
Q5: What do you think about spirulina protein? If I can find a way to get it down:)!!
I can only tolerate small amounts of whole legumes (even peanuts) – like humus and popodoms are ok on occasion – other than that I generally avoid it.
A5: Aaaaaarghhh!!!!!!!!! The tablets go down easier. I prefer chlorella tablets, and we take these when we do our heavy metal detox with the green coriander juice. Mostly we consume a lot of chlorophyll in the juices we make. Peanuts are only for A-secretors. Hummus only for o-secretor. Lentils are very good for A.
Thank you so much – Really appreciate all the good products and all the good info!!!
Answer 2: This is a lot to chew over so I have converted it into a document. If ever you are in Cape Town, please come over. We can do some more investigation with regards to diet and training. We have a gym at work here and Eddie Cave (Kancho) of Wacko fame is our personal trainer. Lucky us!

Gluten sensitivity / dysfunctional bowel letter
Q1:) Sue I just found your question and answer section on the net and arrived at this page. I have just moved to Natal from Cape Town as a result of some very difficult circumstances. I was searching for hormone help and found that you advise on so many of my problems. I have a totally dysfunctional bowel and really serious symptoms and nobody has been able to help me come right. I would really value being able to speak to you if that is at all possible. I am truly desperate. Many thanks.
A1:) The best person to help you in Durban is my friend Lucille. Unless you approach your food sensitivities there is no drug or pep talk that can help you.
1 We usually advise to begin with gluten exclusion. Lucille can help you.
2 I further recommend eating for your blood type. Try a month like this and you will feel a big improvement.
3 Clean out the parasites – this really improves bowel health
4 Take our PROBIOTIC-15 supplement to set up a good balance.
5 Hormones are complex. We have tinctures that can help but what really upsets them are diet, stress, toxins and contraceptive pills.
See the attached info. There are good recipes and gluten free info sheets on our website: www.naturefresh.co.za
I hope this will help you into a better space. Love, Sue Visser

Dear Friends, Anyone suffering from celiac disease is sensitive not only to the gliadin bearing grains, but to any grain or starch product. I had severe digestive issues for many years in my teens and early twenties. I thought it was IBS, but when I landed up in hospital with bleeding from my intestines five years ago, as well as a severely compromised immune system, I was diagnosed via blood test by a gastro-enterologist as having celiac disease. I’ve been living gluten-free (as well as corn-free) now for five years, and have never felt better. Regards, Lucille.
A2 From Lucille: I believe that anyone who suffers from a “totally dysfunctional bowel” as you put it, has to suspect food sensitivities. I suspect that you may be sensitive to gluten grains (wheat, rye, oats and barley) and possibly dairy products.
If you can give me a few more details about this “totally dysfunctional bowel” I may be able to point you in the right direction for tests.
If you suffer from chronic diarrhoea and/or severe weight loss, you may be suffering from the condition called coeliac disease (pronounced as. see-lee-ack).
In this case you should go to a reputable gastroenterologist like Dr. Funnel at Parklands hospital who will organise the correct blood tests. (See document attached called gluten blood tests). He may even then suggest you have a small bowel biopsy. This is to check for flattened villi in your intestines. Villi are microscopic finger-like projections on the walls of the intestine. They are there to absorb nutrients from food. In the presence of gluten (as in wheat, rye, oats and barley), these villi become damaged and cannot function properly.
If you suffer from constipation or alternating constipation and diarrhoea, you may be suffering from a milder form of the condition called gluten sensitivity or gluten intolerance.
In both cases, you need blood tests first, then you will probably have to follow a gluten free diet. The gluten free diet is for life. You will never “grow out of it”. This is because it is genetic. You inherited it from one or both parents. I am attaching a lot of documents for your interest. Once you have read the symptom list, please contact me again and let me know what symptoms you suffer from. Where do you live in Natal? You may like to attend a talk I am giving on food allergies and gluten sensitivity on 10th September at the Kloof Methodist Church (see attachment).
If you feel you do not suffer from full-blown coeliac disease, then I try and encourage people to go for the ImuPro 100 Delayed Food Allergy Type III (IgG) test. At R1950 it sounds very expensive, but it is a truly excellent food allergy test. It will be the best test you will have in your whole life! Check out www.wellpro.co.za or go into the German supplier’s website: www.imupro.com In South Africa, you can have a blood sample taken at any Dis-Chem pharmacy and they courier the blood to the laboratory in Westville, Durban. You do not have to go through a doctor. The lab is run by microbiologists and geneticists. They e-mail the results to you within 7-10 days. They also provide you with a 30-page report and diet sheet with recipes personally designed to eliminate your food allergies or sensitivities. You can of course go direct to the lab in Durban. Their phone number is 031-267 7000 The lab is called Molecular Diagnostic Services. Their email address iswellness@mdsafrica.net

Reply from patient: Thank you very much indeed for your reply Sue. It is much appreciated. My case is very severe and very complex because it also involves a functional bowel disorder. I am at my wit’s end .I have not had gluten for years and don’t think my body can cope with the blood type diet as I need to be eating meat as an O positive and with a dysfunctional bowel that is out of the question. Something has gone wrong with the nerve function in the bowel. I had a bowel prolapse op last year and don’t know if this has gone wrong now but I am in Durban and can’t get to see Dr. Elliot yet. Thank you for your input. It is much appreciated.
Product to cure IBS?
Q1 Good day I need some assistance, i am having IBS for the past 8 months, being using medication that the doctor prescribe me but no luck, is there a herbal product on the market that i can use that will be able to help me with my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) Regards
A1 Sorry about the delay with your enquiry. I hope this information can help you. Often we take a medication, but it cannot “cure” an eating error or root out pesky parasites. Please consider the following:
1 Take the Nature Fresh Parasite Remedy
2 Cut out all wheat for a month. If you have already done so, you may also have to also omit all gluten. See our gluten free help service on our website resources.
3 Often people eat food that does not suit their blood type. Have a look. My book: Healthy Happy Eating can assist you.
4 With a shortage of natural gut flora the bowel can become seriously inflamed.
5 Consider making your own fresh vegetable and herb juices.
There is plenty of help on our website as well as new video clips that explain more about blood type eating. Welcome to:www.naturefresh.co.za
Cholesterol, Iodine, Thyroid dilemma
Q1 ) I am hoping that you have some advice for the following –
(i) I have a familial problem with cholesterol which is well controlled but I am having trouble in raising the HDL level. Is there something I can do/take?
(ii) I have just been told that my thyroid is working too slowly and will have to go onto medication. Any solution for this?
Your help would be greatly appreciated as I am generally into alternative solutions rather than medication that fixes on one level but destroys on another.
Kind regards
A1 ) I Hope you like reading!
Coleus and iodine are best for thyroid. Gluten avoidance helps a lot too, for both problems. There are plenty of foods to get a good cholesterol profile: pulses, onions, garlic – iodine too! Love, Sue
Q2 ) Skimmed through the sheets last night and found the subject matter very interesting and informative. Will study them in more detail over the weekend. I am on the lowest dosage of Eltroxin at the moment, having been diagnosed just over a month ago and therefore going through the trial and error stage. Am due to have another blood test on the 8th and question is, please, am I able to take iodine at the same time as the medication?
A2 ) It should be OK. After all, ask yourself if you have an iodine deficiency? Your doctor can read the articles too, in case you are not sure. That’s why we take supplements! All the best, Sue
Q3 ) Thank you for your guidance, Sue. Am inclined to take iodine but just needed to ask the question. I tend to keep my leanings away from my Dr (with whom I have a very good relationship and who I probably see at best once year) as she tends to be somewhat critical of anything “alternative” as I guess most of them are.
A3 ) Most doctors are iodine illiterate – let alone nutritionists! Hope you find the right doctor, or do your own homework, like most of us do. there is plenty of help and support along the way.
Reply: ) Will do it my way, as you say, with plenty of help and support – and once again, many thanks for yours.
Lugol’s iodine quantities and availability and reactions
Q1 Good day Where can I get Lugol in South africa?
A1 Lugol’s iodine?
12.5mg of Lugol’s iodine daily is recommended by “iodine literate”
doctors. (2 drops of Lugol’s iodine), should be taken in a little water
or milk every day. Excess iodine is excreted and does not have any toxic
repercussions. It is made out of two types of iodine: 10% potassium
iodide (ideal for making thyroid hormones) and 5% elemental iodine (best
suited to the breast, ovary and prostate tissue) in 85% water.
In South Africamost chemists do not stock Lugol’s iodine, but can order
it for you. Some of them will make it up for you.
Pharmaceutical wholesalers are:
Durban: Allied Drug Company. (Pty) Ltd 27 Hannah RoadDurban4001
Gauteng: MEDICOLAB 5 Bessemer Road, Amalgam.Tel (011) 839 3142
Cape Towndirect suppliers: Steps to Health, Kendal Road,

pharmacist:geralds@iafrica.com <mailto:geralds@iafrica.com>
Q2 Thank you so much. Got it from the White Chemist.
You mentioned two drops daily.. on their bottle it says 6drops 4 times a day. You said 2 drops daily. Which is it? Thanks again for your help. Ps. What are people’s response to using this product?
A2 How much iodine? it is an individual matter. To fight infections, one can temporarily up the dosage to max 6 drops a day.
1Too much Lugol’s too soon can cause reactions like a sore throat – but that is only temporary and a sign you may be deficient.
2 If you are full of bromide poisoning (from bread, etc), fluoride from oral hygiene products and chlorine from tap water and showering then the iodine will cause displacement. A quick short cut is to take 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt in a little water, they say.
3 Please study my articles on iodine. They have been put to good use by many doctors who know about iodine.

Iodine in seaweed and shellfish. Calcium and magnesium when pregnant?
Q 1 ) Hi i use the calcium and magnesium complex powder, can a pregant woman use this product, i have a friend who is 24weeks pregnant, will this product be a good calcium and magnesium supplement for her? and the idodine product on your list is the idodine derived from shelled seafoods and kelp or from another source, i have shelled seafood allergies, and I’m idodine defiecient i checked the list, and i have some of the symptoms for a lack of iodine, if you can send me a reply kind regards
A 1 ) Calcium and magnesium is essential at any age and any stage of the human life cycle. Beneficial if taken!
Iodine allergies from shellfish and seaweed? Lugol’s iodine is the pure, inorganic mineral and is far better tolerated by most people. To test it, paint the brown solution on a match box sized patch of skin. If your skin burns or itches after an hour then don’t take it. If it is absorbed and the colour goes away after a few hours or even overnight then you may be iodine deficient. Have a look at the many symptoms and decide for yourself. Eg: fibrocystic breast disease, thyroid problems, cold hands and feet, breast cancer, oestrogen dominance, constant infections.
Our new NATURE FRESH DEO-BUSTER cream contains decolorized iodine.
3 A new versatile aluminium-free deodorant cream: Nature Fresh DEO-BUSTER!
This new silky deo-buster cream contains colloidal silver, selenium and decolourised iodine to help protect ladies from breast cancer. They are combined with herbal extracts of calendula and witch hazel in a paraben-free base of vanishing cream. It is free of aluminium and is ideal for armpits, an area that is close to lymph glands and breast tissue. Iodine and selenium deficiencies affect breast diseases like cancer and fibrocystic disease. Rubbing this anti-chafing cream onto breasts helps to boost iodine reserves that are present in breast tissue. The same goes for the thyroid, making it a great throat cream as well! For tough sporty customers it is excellent for pongy pits, grotty groins (lycra cycle pants) stinky feet (gym shoes) and infected toe nails. It is free of nasty chemicals, perfumes and colouring. The formulation is slightly astringent and is not an antiperspirant. Sweat is not the problem. All you need is to control the bacteria that cause odour, rashes and microbial/fungal skin infections. The cream does not leave white marks on black clothing or yellow stains on white clothing! After using it daily for a while you need only apply it every second day as the odour busting effect increases with regular use.

Fibromyalgia and painful vagina
Q1) I have a few questions, hope you can help me. I have FMS. For the past 4 years I have been battling with what I thought to be thrush and bladder infection. I have used antibiotics for the bladder infection, every possible OTC yeast medication including difflucan. I was diagnosed with vulvodynia on tuesday and sent to a physio to help release the muscle spasms in my pelvis. What can I do to help release the pain?
A1 ) You will get a lot of help from our website
www.naturefresh.co.za Also the probiotics, for something to do.
I have attached the intimate hygiene advice for you.
To ease a muscle spasm, try the tissue salt MAG PHOS. Take calcium and magnesium at bedtime.
Q2) I was told that I do not have candida that is why none of the OTC medication worked- I used Canesten, Canesten 1VC, Canalba, Medispor, Gyno Daktarin……I have used many Difflucan capsules (available on prescription only). The gynae later said this OTC, etc would never work because I don’t have candida. I used dermovaytecream, a cortisone medication which worked for a while.
I also regularly suffer from cistitis, bladder iinfection, painful urination almost every month and have to take antibiotics every time.
I went for the full blood test to see if I have STD which I don’t have. They tested for parasites, candida, etc, etc.
I drink 2 types of probiotics per day (from Nat Sure) and eat probiotic yoghurt.
I started taking Calcium Citrate supplement 2 days ago.
I take bestum vitamins every morning.
The dr says vulvadynia is related to FMS and it might be a neurological problem with my nerves. I I have had FMS since 1988 after a car accident, it is hereditary- my mother suffered from it for many years. Vulvadynia is very painful, I am aware of the burning pain all the time (there is no itching, like with thrush). Sex is painful, almost impossible and I am sexually dysfunctional. Is there nothing else to take?
A2) You seem to be overwhelmed by a vast array of overlapping symptoms. If I knew where you stayed I could recommend a suitable therapist to look at the whole picture. A pill cannot solve the riddle. Causative factors develop over a period of time and get worse due to dietary error, and microbial involvement.
The fact that you have bladder problems and took antibiotics gives a good clue about diet, microbes and candida.
A deficiency of probiotics (effective ones) causes excessive yeast. Without your natural gut flora, the yeast (Candida albicans) converts to other forms that affect the urinary system, nerves, pain, depression and especially hormones. Some pathogens reside in biofilms that escape the detection of the immune system. It is complex and a few blood tests will not identify what is causing it. Therapists that scan with a SCIO BIOS, BEST or karnak apparatus will tell you another story about what is happening. Each factor needs treatment to alleviate fibromyalgia.
Here are some clues:
Gluten intolerance.
Food sensitivities cause inflammation and weaken immunity. Or they cause autoimmune disorders like Fibromyalgia. Your mother may have had it because you both eat foods that trigger it off. You may both be eating food that does not suit your blood type. Things like car accidents, depression, acididy and anxiety do weaken the immune system.
1 For pain, homeopathic remedies work well. Seek help from a health shop. The remedies: Hypericum, ledum, phytolacca and even arnica are excellent for this type of pain. I also suggested MAG PHOS for the spasms, remember?
2 Secondly, read about the anti-inflammatory effect of PGE 1 and 3. See the pain attachment.
3 Cut out the gluten and the sugar for a whole month to see if there is improvement.
I regret not being able to recommend something you can take to make it all go away. But there is plenty to do. Please follow this up
Desperate to lower husband’s blood sugar
Q ) Please advise me on diabetic treatment for my husband his sugar levels are very high. Thank you I am desperate
A ) Look at the attachments on parasites, olive leaf, MSM.
NF 024 NATURE FRESH MSM PAIN AND THERAPY SUPPLEMENT
MSM (methylsulphonylmethane) is not an all-round painkiller as some people claim it to be, but it has a profound effect on reducing pain whilst helping to heal injured or inflamed bone, muscle and cartilage tissue. This form of organic sulphur, derived from pine trees has become a very popular ingredient in arthritis, bone and joint medications. Half a teaspoon of in a little water or fruit juice provides an intense and fast-acting dose of MSM because it is combined with Vitamin C, to speed up the action. Vitamin C is a vital component of connective tissue, especially in cartilage, ligaments and tendons as well as in collagen that forms bone tissue. Trace elements, tissue salts and boron help the body to retain calcium and to stimulate the release of adrenal hormones to fight pain and injury. This product can be taken with any pain supplements or medications to enhance and speed up the healing and pain-relieving process. For best results: Take half a teaspoon of MSM & Vitamin C in a little water or add it to your morning fruit juice. You can take a dose before every meal. Average doses should help to ease constipation (also a cause of headaches!) If your bowels become too loose after frequent doses, then take a smaller dose, less frequently.
Special note for diabetics: When NATURE FRESH PAIN & THERAPY SUPPLEMENT is taken before meals it helps to reduce blood sugar levels. (Even in some cases when drugs were unable to do so)
Please note that taking your regular medication may then bring levels down too low. Consult your doctor for a revision of your insulin dosage if you take this product regularly.
Next is diet: eat for your blood type. Go low on carbohydrates, high with green vegetables.
Supplement with high potency vitamin B complex, Omega 3 (cod liver) oil capsules.
Alkalise by drinking lemon juice 1/4 with water.
With insulin resistance, look at heavy metals : do the detox. Read up on syndrome X and you will see that high blood sugar is only a symptom. It goes with high blood pressure and high LDL cholesterol. All of which lead to incorrect eating habits as a cause, and not a need to be on medications. Most doctors agree that diet and exercise help alleviate these conditions.
There is a lot of information, so I hope something will help. Lots of love, Sue
Q 2 ) Thank you for all the information My husbands blood type is A Negative Kindly advice
A2 ) Have a look at the attachments on gluten intolerance, eating for your blood type and the healthy ways to control blood sugar. These principles apply to the whole family, especially the person who shops and cooks for the diabetic. The supplement: Diabetacinn is excellent to support the new way of eating. Look for a practitioner who is blood type literate who can help to balance medications when supplements are taken that help to lower blood sugar.
If you need any more advice and recipes you can use our website www.naturefresh.co.za
Pregnant Lady with Constipation.
Q ) Hi I am 29 and 12 weeks pregnant with diabetes.
I have been constipated for the past 2 months, having a bowl movement once a week. I am fatigued, short of breath and always tired. Passing a wind has become difficult and painfull at times.
My daily foods incl, albran flakes, cooled boiling water, 2 apples, fresh salad, low gi bread, no chicken or meat. I hav tried the activia yoghurt, probiflora colon ease. 800 grams sour figs, and prunes. Nothing seams to work. When I reach my 6th day I take some Lacson (30ml) and have 1 small bowl movement.
Due to my lack of bowl function I try 2 avoid solids as I am afraid of feacol loading. I opt for fluids, fruit and salad. I have last 5kgs and manage my sugar levels well.
Its like my colon has stopped working.
I’ve read your remedies are they safe during pregnancy? I await your reply. Kindest Regards
A ) You and your laxative have something to do with your complaint about wind and bowel discomfort: Lacson works on a mechanism based on sugar. You said you are diabetic! Whoever recommended this to you needs to know this. I have taken an extract from a research paper from the internet and highlighted the problem for you.
http://www.edoc.co.za/modules.php?name=News&file=print&sid=392
“Non-digestible sugars and alcohol
These include glycerin, lactulose (E.g. Duphalac® ,Lacson®, Laxette®) and sorbitol (Microenema®) The non-absorbable sugar, lactulose, is hydrolysed in the intestine to organic acids which acidify the luminal contents and osmotically draw water into the lumen, stimulating colonic propulsive motility. The osmotic action causes a softening of the faecal matter. Laxative effect may take 24-48 hours. Patients may experience abdominal discomfort, bloating and flatulence initially, but these symptoms generally subside with continued administration. Lactulose may be used long-term for chronic constipation.”
What would be a better option is referred to below: Magnesium sulphate, known as Epson salts.
“Saline laxatives are generally used for acute and rapid containing laxatives also stimulate the release of cholecystokinin, which leads to intraluminal fluid and electrolyte accumulation and to increased intestinal motility. Saline laxatives are generally used for acute and rapid evacuation of the bowel. Long-term use of these agents is not recommended. Absorption of small amounts of the cation or anion of the inorganic salt may cause an electrolyte disturbance. Therefore these inorganic salt osmotic laxatives should be used with caution or avoided in patients with renal insufficiency, cardiac disease and in patients on diuretic therapy. Sufficient fluid intake must be recommended to avoid dehydration. Examples include magnesium sulphate Epson salts®), magnesium hydroxide Phipps Milk of Magnesia®) and sodium sulphate (Glauber’s Salt®) and combination preparations (E.g. Belax ®) with magnesium sulphate and magnesium carbonate.”
Here is what I usually recommend. Every system behaves differently in terms of magnesium sensitivity. Pregnant women especially, are deficient in calcium and magnesium due to the bemands made by the unborn child. Just think – the baby has a skeleton and it comes from the mother!
1 Nature Fresh Calcium Complex powder. This supplement contains the ideal balance of calcium, magnesium and supportive nutrients, including biochemical tissue salts.
2 Epson salts known as magnesium sulphate. They are cheap and freely available at supermarkets.
At bedtime take 1/4 glass of water. Mix in 1 teaspoon of Calcium complex and 1/2 teaspoon of Epson salts. This may take a day or 2 to get you regular. If no-go after the first attempt, take 1 teaspoon of Epson salts with the Calcium powder. The following days you can reduce the Epson salts by halving it every time until you find your ideal mixture.
Too much Epson salts causes a complete flush out. We use this in the liver and gallbladder flushing protocol. Amounts of 2 teaspoons a time are used. But this procedure is to remove gallstones and is not recommended when one is pregnant.
3 Supportive balancing of mineral salts is achieved by taking tissue salts. NAT SULPH reduces acidity and swollen ankles or blocked sinus that is combined with constipation. NAT MUR is an overall water balancer and very good for constipation, dry skin and hair. Please look up tissue salts on our website. They are available at health shops. Ask the assistant.
4 As a diabetic it helps to eat for your blood type. Wheat and chicken may not agree with you either!
From our shopper’s guide:
NATURE FRESH: Calcium complex powder or tablets, Olive Leaf tablets or tincture, Parasite Remedy.
Other Products: Vitamin C (ascorbic acid is cheaper for this) Extra magnesium or add ½ Epsom Salts to 1 teaspoon Calcium /complex at bedtime. Try eating soaked or stewed prunes or their juice in large morning helpings (they contain magnesium shuphate). Sweden bitters and digestive bitters.
Protocol: Do not rely on purgatives, colonics or fibre supplements because they do not correct the diet. A lot of medications like codeine and anti-histamines cause a sluggish or dehydrated bowel. Aloe bitters when taken excessively and repeatedly to make you go to the toilet will damage your natural peristaltic ability as well as the inner membranes because it is an irritant. It can cause life long dependence.
Acute cases: High doses of Vitamin C in 1 or 2 gram doses mixed with water every hour till the motion begins. A good rule is: do not eat till you excrete in the mornings. Drink lemon juice or vitamin C with water and do some exercise, especially bouncing on a rebound until you do!
Treatment: Bad cases: colonic irrigation to clear the backlog. Special exercises like squatting and yoga help. So do coffee enemas. In some cases probiotics may cause a drier stool. (This is because they correct diarrhoea too!) Compensate with a little Epsom salts. Aslo maintain water balance with the tissue salt: NAT MUR.
Personal lubricant spermicidal?
Q ) I am currently on fertility treatment& was advised by my Gynae not to use any lubricants as they can harm sperm. I came across your product today& wondered if you could advise me if it was “sperm friendly”? Many Thanks
PS: I already use a few of your products& very happy with them!
A1 ) It is hard to say what our lubricant does to sperm. They advise against
any gel because some contraceptives are based on a spermicidal gel. So
rather let the little guys swim freely! A safer option is a little smear
of almond oil or something benign if you are severely dry. Usually
sufficient time and foreplay assists with lubrication. All the best with
a successful result!
Q2 ) FYI – I just found out I’m pregnant (very early stage at just 1-2 weeks) – we’re thrilled! And we used your advise, so thanks!
So now I have another question for you. I’m using Nature Fresh Calcium & Magnesium Complex for my restless legs syndrome. Could you advise if your product is safe for me to use during pregnancy?
A2 ) Yay! you must be excited. Restless legs and babies and breastfeeding mothers love the calcium complex! No worries there. For the legs, it also has to to with potassuim deficiencies that are easily corrected with a teaspoon of blackstrap molasses in a cup of boiling water. It makes a good pick me up and is good for pregnancy. I have attached a general retail guide (all types of brands and products) for anything else you may require. Love, Sue
Is sweet potato a contraceptive?
Q1 Hi there, I am currently pregnant and looking for alternate methods of contraceptive to take after I have given birth. I will be breastfeeding and I do not want to take any pills. Someone told me that you have some kind of drops or something that is a contraceptive, please can you send me more information on such a product, (if it exists!) Thanks!
A1 Nothing is 100% contraceptive. We have done a lot of work with the sweet potato as it raises progesterone. But no guarantee. We also use it to help bring babies into this world.
They also talk a lot about eating peas on the internet and how it reduced Tibet’s population. Interesting, so look into that. Perhaps we can find something to help in a natural way. All the best with your baby. As for spacing the next one, —- let me know!
Love, Sue Visser
Conversations with calcium
Q: Would you please let me know if your calcium supplements (powder and tablets) are suitable for vegan – do they contain any ingredients sourced from animals?
Please also let me know where the vit D3 in your products is sourced from?
Can you please also advise what the bioavailability and absorbency of the powder and tablets is like. What dosage of tablets or powder does one need to take if one is at risk of osteoporosis?
A: Thanks for your enquiry. Our Calmag is certainly suitable for vegans. In fact, our formulator of the product, Sue Visser, is in fact a vegetarian! Our Vitamin D3 is sourced from Roche pharmaceuticals and is synthetic, i.e.: not an animal product.
Q: Can you please let me know if the calcium in your powder and tablets is citrate or carbonate or any other type of calcium.
Can you please also advise what the bioavailability and absorbency of the powder and tablets is like.
What dosage of tablets or powder does one need to take if one is at risk of osteoporosis?
what the Calmag powder tastes like.
WRT to Calgmag do you ever have specials or banded packs etc.
Could you also let me know if you have separate Vitamin D3 supplements suitable for
A: Thank you for your enquiry.
1 We make over two tons of the product a month to the benefit of thousands of people. Many cases of osteoporosis have been reversed. In some cases, additional HCL supplements are required. Calcium tastes like chalk.
2 It is sold in an economy powdered form or tablets that are more expensive – but you don’t taste the tablets!
3 The best source of vitamin D is sunshine. It is very suitable for vegans and 10 – 20 minutes of this miraculous commodity a day on the skin is now being prescribed by doctors as a source of natural vitamin D.
4 The information provided on our website will give more you more supportive information on osteoporosis. www.naturefresh.co.za
Should you have any more questions, we are happy to help you.
Regards, Sue Visser
Q: Thanks for your reply.
If you are at risk of osteoporosis what dosage of calmag powder is needed?
Could you please let me know if you take 2 tsp.of calmag powder when is the best time to take it for max.absorbtion?
What is the iu of the D3 in the Calmag?
What is HCL that you referred to in your mail?
Do you have vitamin D3 supplements on its own and what is the source and is it vegan friendly?
A: Most ladies with osteoporosis take a teaspoon of our Calcium complex Powder at bedtime. Some like to take a teaspoon after breakfast, but this is not essential. your health shop can advise you on an HCL supplement. Good ones are by Solal or Solgar called Betaine HCL.
We do not make vitamin D supplements, but you can ask your health shop for more information about these products.
Arthritis, high blood pressure and high blood sugar.
Q:) Hello Sue, Hope u are well?My mom has been diagnosed with Arthiritis in the lower back-pls can u advise what natural remedies we cud use?The doc gave her, GlyCal, Pharmapress,Ridaq as she continously has highblood pressure and high cholesteral. We also got her Caltrate and CholesteralEase. Awaiting ur earnest response and thanking u in advance Sent from my Nokia phone
A) 1 Most important is cod liver oil.
2 We usually recommend Nature Fresh Calcium complex. (see attachments.) Acidity in the joints needs to be neutralised.
3 Next comes parasite cleansing. Microbes and pathogens can also cause joint acidity and joint erosion.
4 Eating for your blood type is also important.
Most joints are eroded by the consumption of wheat. It destroys glucosamine, a very expensive supplement to take if you still eat wheat!
5 For high blood pressure, the best is olive leaf tablets: but under the supervision of a skilled doctor.
6 Cholesterol is controlled by a diet rich in natural fibre such as legumes and pulses, onions and fresh fruit and vegetables.
7 I have attached a list of suitable resources and a shopping list for you to look at.
Anti inflammatory drugs are bad news. Usually the problem starts with food that is unsuitable and it sets off a delayed autoimmune attack on the joints and other organs. Remember too, that cortisone suppresses the immune system but it can make one very obese.
If there are weight problems already, then perhaps insulin resistance has already set in. It tends to, when there is high blood pressure and high cholesterol and a diet out of control!
If your mother is demonstrating the effects of very bad dietary errors it may be good to see if the chef can make a few changes.
ADD parent objects to drugs like Concerta. Now going gluten free
Q1) hi Sue, i got your details from my fiance’s mom Dawn Wilson. my 13yr old son has been diagnosed with severe ADHD and is now on Concerta and it seems to help a lot but if there is something natural that will rather help him i’m open for options. can you assist? i must mention that he has failed 2 terms already and that with the last parents evening the teachers were very posiitive about his progress so i don’t want to have him back where he started again, if you know what i mean? hope to hear from you
A1 )There is a lot of help in terms of nutrition and seeking out the real causes od ADD. It is shocking that these drugs are used for academic results with no regard for safety. Please read the attachments and please, please share the ones that really hit home with teachers and other parents. Amphetamines are highly addictive mind bending drugs that work like cocaine. I have nothing good to say about these drugs and no respect for adults who give them to children
Q2) I have decided that I’m chucking the Concerta, have been able to buy most of the products you recommend over the weekend. We are also Gluten free from today after taking all normal pastas, lasagne, Weetbix out of the grocery cupboard last night.
I have explained to Quentin (my 13 year old son) about gluten and he is quite excited, especially about the fruit smoothies in the morning and off course scramled eggs! He is very sad about his All Gold tomatoe sauce though!
Have also started him on the Flouride Free toothpaste from today and got some Olive Leaf tinxture and ADD Vance and a very good vit. B supplement. Still battling to find the Lugals Iodene though but I have someone from the Health basket in Willowbridge that is helping me with that. Also planning to get a good 2nd hand bread machine to bake our own Gluten free bread!
I’m very excited about this new way of living!
A2) Wow! that is excellent news. Oh, how we need more parents like you. Your new protocol also keeps you healthier in may ways, including a way to beat off infections. At a later stage you can consider blood type eating as it helps to unravel blood type reactions concerning ADD. But enough for now!
We have a lot of resources for gluten free with recipes on our website: www.naturefresh.co.za . I have attached some more info. You do not need a bread machine. Just a little practice. The Nature’s Choice pre-mixed gluten free flour is a good beginning. Just follow the directions. Hanlie Le Roux is to thank for the delicious results that we sampled during a gluten free workshop.

50kg overweight blood type O 17year female
Q1 Hello. I’m a 17 year old female from Durban. I have been having irregular periods for the past 2years.. And since then I have picked up about 50 kilos. I can’t seem to lose any weight..
I went for every blood test possible.. Hormones, thyroid-everything is fine.. I was even checked for PCOS but they then said it isn’t PCOS. I’m an O-pos blood type. Please can you advise me on ways to lose weight. Thanking you..
A1 This is a lot of information for such a young person, but all has been used to good effect by those on the MEGASLIM protocol.
During Ramedaan it is difficult to do much except IMMEDIATELY cut out ALL GLUTEN and sugar.
1 Begin with the MEGASLIM PROTOCOL when you seriously get going and take the Coleus tincture.
2 When it comes to fasting, remember that it can make the thyroid go in reverse. Please read up about rT3 and you will see what may have happened. Blood tests are no indicator of the full hormone story. Did your doctor do the TSH, the rT3 and the T4?
3 The heavy metal detox is essential to correct the problem.
4 How do you know you are not gluten intolerant? You can consult with my friend Lucille in Durban about this if you need help. (see therapists)
5 Please ask whoever is feeding you to have a look at the attached help files. 50kg? I weigh 57kg. Surely you noticed it packing on?
All the best – you now have the information and it is up to you and your doctors.

Q:) Hi I am very confused and upset after reading briefly browsing your website.
Thanks a lot ( )
A:)Dear ( ),
You are one of many that have this problem.

Acne on back 25 yrs old
Q: ) i am a frequent visitor to your website and refer to your book constantly:
i am a pharmacy student and am a firm supporter of natural alternatives…
in need of some advice…currently have acne on my back, consantly have tine pustules on my back. took a contraceptive for 6 months. acne stopped. dermatologist says its due to excess testosterone. the acne returned as soon as i stopped the pill though. in 25 yrs old. i have been trying your pumpkin seed remedy. should i take it everyday?? how much of pumpkin seeds do i use?? should i use it with the orange pith or just the seeds?? is there anything else i could use for my acne?? its not on my face (thankfully!)
A: ) So nice to hear you go the natural way! For too much testosterone, we usually give our Chasteberry(agnus Castus) drops, but some people (even ladies) do very well with saw palmetto tinctues – we don’t make it. Zinc supplements – cheap from Vital, are good for skin. Don’t bother too much with pumpkin seeds if you only have pimples on your back – get rid of them with: METINOX tablets by Lennon. Yes, a little more tin and they should melt away!
All the best, Sue
Painful pimples, poor concentration
Q: ) What can one use for pimples that starts by feeling a pain, there after gets swollen as if one is bitten by moskito, then turns into a red pimple that comes out a puss then leaves a huge black spot. Sue I’m 30yrs and started studying this year after 10yrs ago what can i use to be able to study and grasp information.
A: )there is a very good way to treat such pimples and prevent them for good. You need to ask the chemist for: METINOX tablets. For a more active mine and better concentration , get vitamin B complex tablets. sucking the tissue salt: Kali Phos a few times a day also gets teh brain ticking, and it is cheap. Still the best, is to take Vital cod liver oil capsules every morning – 1 or 2.
All the best with your studies – pimple free! Love, Sue
HIV vaginal discharge ulcers poor concentration
Q: Following our conversation earlier please find my e-mail address for further information. My friend is currently in Mafikeng. What are your recommended products for maintaining an HIV infected woman, controlling virginal discharge and ulcers. And for the person who wants to study.
A: Thanks for helping so may people – we share your concern. I have enclosed some information for you on parasites, tissue salts and therapeutic diets. In outlying areas, the local pharmacy can order Nature Fresh products from the depot at UPD. No problem! (Search for these items on our website if you need similar advice)
Bitter taste in mouth
Q:) My wife is a great devotee of yours and has just bought your book from exclusive. Just as soon as we’ve ascertained our blood type we will start on your eating regimen.
In the meantime I wonder if you could help me with an immediate problem. After a few hours of not having eaten anything I develop a strong bitter taste in my mouth. I cannot say whether it is bile, although I suspect it is.
A:) Bitter taste? Look at your tongue in the mirror! If white, creamy or yellow, your system is acidic. Take the tissue salt Nat Phos or Nat sulph. Drink a glass of water every two hours and rinse out with Nature Fresh mouthwash as well. Also, if using fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash, the damaged mouth lining and gum tissue begins to smell and taste like a compost heap. Go for dental products that do not contain fluoride. Lay off white flour and sugar, it can also leave a bad taste and make your blood sugar fluctuate. Eat more fresh fruit. Drink hot water and a squeeze of lemon juice, that helps digestion as well. Our Breath buster mouth drops will help promote a natural flow of saliva – perhaps your mouth gets too dry and the liquorice and herbs it contains will help overcome the taste. Hope that tastes better! I have included smoe of my latest recipes. Enjoy!
READ THIS! Therapist uses blood type and Quantum (QX)
Q: )Hi Sue and All, I’ve just read your book “Healthy Happy Eating for all Blood Types” and I’m in awe!
I am a Bio-energetic Therapist and use the Quantum Xrroid system for testing and balancing. I mainly recommend the Blood Type diet to my clients (Eat/Live right 4 your type), but have always found that we need something more appropriate for South Africans. This is the absolute answer.
I’ve browsed the web-site and looked at a number of products which will be absolutely appropriate for my clients i.e. the parasite remedy.
Is there any way of becoming a distributor/agent for these products? I currently keep some GNLD stock, though they do not cater for all conditions. I will appreciate if you can also forward me more information on specific blood type weight loss diets, if available. Please advise soonest! Wellness Regards. Amelia Aucamp Q-
A:) Dear Amelia, Thanks for your mail and so pleased to hear that you are using Sue’s book- Blood -type eating certainly works1 . We already have distribution throughout the western Cape: Allan of Health for Life Tel 021-461 1450.He would be able to supply you in bulk for selling to your clients/patients.
Trust this will help you. Best regards, Jim Visser
High blood pressure – cause not normal
Q: )I live in SW England and was given your website address by Nigel Millett who is giving me weekly massages at present in Exeter, Devon. He recommended that I contact you about the severe hypertension that I suffer from. Would it be possible to discuss this via email with you to see if you might be able to help me? I have been under the care of an experienced nutritionist for the last 2 1/2 years and am convinced that my problems are not based on the usual causes i.e overweight, smoking, drinking, poor diet etc. My blood tests are normal.
I look forward to hearing from you. 60 years old. Wt <60 kilos. Ht 5ft 5ins
A: Blood pressure has many causes as well as cures!
1 People on medication have done very well on our olive leaf tablets and come off the regular type of drugs over a period of 3 weeks. Have done so for years.
2 See attached notes on blood pressure. Our basic advice is: Omega 3, calmag, potassium (blackstrap molasses) and drinking enough water. You probably do this?
3 When it comes to diet: have a look at gluten intolerances. A shortcut is to not eat any gluten for a month. See my article.
4 Coleus does a good job, but check if you are on medication – gradually ease off as you increase the herbal medicine. We have good results with our coleus tincture.
Hope this helps you as it has helped many of my radio listeners – but they usually have appalling eating habits!
Parasite Remedy and liver detox
Q: ) I am currently on a 14-day detox using products called Livotibb and your Herbal Parasite remedy (please note that I have received this from a homeopath).
This is my fourth day on the detox and I was wondering if I could combine the following products with this…..its Megaslim and Coleus…….
If so where do I get these products from. Please note that I stay in the Bergvliet area.
Oh, another thing is my diet at the moment is as follows:
Breakfast – dry toast and tomato
Lunch – Fruit Salad or Protein and salad
Supper – Protein and veg or salad. Look forward to hearing from you!
A): Go to the Health Connection in Diep River for our products. Good luck with the detox, hope the time flies by. There is no problem taking Megaslim and coleus with the detox, but if you are sticking to the Megaslim eating plan, it is a bit different. Perhaps the detox should be done first. If you are cutting out so much fat and oil, watch out for the gall bladder as the bile gets trapped. Read the notes, you can do the liver flush after the detox and will feel totally scrubbed out!
Blood type A needs to gain weight
Q 1: I have just started with the eating plan for type A blood group. I don’t need to loss weight but need to increase my weight.I am 1.92cm tall and weight 76kg. Is there any way that I can increase my weight by using the eating plan for type A blood group.
A 1: Weight loss or gain imbalances both read as pH errors – eating food that causes an acidic or toxic reaction. Blood type is a good start, but not the only way out. Often a good old liver cleanse will set you on the right path. I know the fatties do this, but you are just like my husband, who tries to put on weight and does a lot of weight training, eats soya protein (good for A’s). Many years ago he had rheumatic fever and he has a very fast metabolism. Anyway, on the blood type diet he is fit and well and full or energy. We never get sick and still he wants to gain weight and i want to lose weight. The bottom line is how you feel and at least tone up what flesh you have!
I suspect you have a wheat intolerance. With A non0secretors, eating wheat can cause weight loss because of gut irritability and malabsorption. Try cutting it out and eating as a non-secretor A and let’s see what happens. I am investigating research on protein assimilation and using Hubbie as a guineapig, so keep in touch.
Q 2: I don’t know if you mean whole wheat or the wheat used in white bread. I have been on the plan for A blood types for 3 weeks and have cut out whole wheat from the start. I have soya milk in my coffee and with my cereal. I have cut out dairy all together which is an avoid for A blood types. I have bought soya cheese but it don’t taste so good. Goats cheese is kind of difficult to get here in Worcester. I must admit the I have a little more energy than before and will continue with the eating plan.
A 2: all wheat, sorry man! But try it for a week or two and see for yourself. We need to cut out the gluten in the wheat to see if it was diung nasty things. As for cheese – treat yourself with a little bit: Feta or Tusser’s just to keep up the good memories and taste. Eat lots of canned tuna and eggs. I boil them when I cook rice – also add chunks of butternut to the pot. Get used to rice cakes – boring, but add nice toppings of mayonnaise and tuna and even a crumble of Feta cheese.
Parasite Remedy: food sensitivities
Q 1: I have developed food sensitivities, thought to have been caused by Leaky Gut as a result of neglected Candida. the person I consult about my condition, recommended following a herbal parasite program for 3 months and your remedy was recommended by my Health Shop in Jeffreys Bay
My condition presents as Rosacea, coupled with follicular ecxema, which had improved radically on a very strict diet.
However, since starting your product, my skin has, slowly at first, and then more rapidly deteriorated.
It is not clear from reading the “Ingredients” on the label what exactly the cause is. I hope that you can help me in this.
Looking forward to your reply.
A 1: You have overlapping problems. I suspect an overactive immune system on top of the leaky gut. We all know skin is the dumping ground and it still sounds angry.
Do not go on such a long course of the Parasite Remedy. Just a 3×3 day clean out. Then stop! Worm eggs have a 3 week cycle, so then you can take a little more. Our olive leaf tablests are generally used for leaky gut syndrome/candida and have a milder action. The microbes giardia and gardenella are responsible for chewing the gut membranes. You may not know – but they thrive on yoghurt. I advise practitioners to use only olive leaf and cut out all the yoghurt. Yes, it works. Especially when you check up for no-no’s on the blood type lists and cut these out as well. I hope you are also pumping in the omega-3 oils. Even Vital cod liver oil is a good, cheap way to go and I have had good leaky gut cures. Also take Nature Fresh Calcium complex at bedtime to calm everything down.
With autoimmune conditions, beware of gluten. See all attached info. Bee balm overnight will help your skin. Use Aloe skin therapy gel during the day. Zit zap will heal up big lesions. Avoid alkaline soap – rather use our Rooibos vaginal cleanser – it is a general body wash as well!
Hope your condition clears up miraculously.
Thanks: Thank you for taking the time to reply in such detail. I have not had ANY fermented food or drink since beginning Oct. 2007, including yoghurt. Am on a vegan diet at the moment (no fruit, because of sugar content), so fish oil is out.
Will try safflower oil in stead
Mother has anaemia and hot flushes
Q: I need some help. My mum is 48 years of age.
She has an iron problem. She does take iron tablet’s everyday
And she also takes an iron injection every month.
At times she’ll be fine and the next minute she’ll just feel very weak where she can’t do anything.
She is very thin as well as she only weighs 40 for her age.
She also suffers with hot flushes but not all the time.
The main thing that get’s her down and weak is her iron.
What can we do to help her? And what could you recommend.
Please let me know as it is very urgent and will be highly appreciated. Thanking You
A: Iron is complicated. Your Mom needs folic acid and vitamin B12 injections to make a difference. Giving anaemic people iron does not solve this problem. furthermore, if caused by an autoimmune problem. you have to remove all gluten from the diet immediately! all wheat, rye. oats and barley. Be strict about this and see the difference. The immune system will stop attacking the iron. to boost her energy, give drinks of Blackstrap molasss (the plain, cheap bitter one) at least 3 x per day: 2 teaspoons of molassses in a cup of hot water. Build up her strength with supershakes of Complan, snd smoothies from bananas, molasses and the things she likes. Make a lot of vegetable soup. Add meat and leftovers from meals and process it in the blender. Serve it often, with toast and cheese and nutritious snacks. Keep her away from all sugar and junk food. Buy her cod liber oil tablets and a good multivitamin like Pharmaton – for the elderly. She will soon buck up! Regards, Sue Visser.
Parasite Remedy. Pimples on 12 yr boy
Q: Somebody wants to know why you do not have Green walnut in your parasite remedy. She says it kills off the flukes and the babies, and is an essential ingredient in parasite erradication.
Help!
Q: A boy who is 12 years old and breaking out in pimples on his face. Is this too much acid? Should they take cal/mag powder?
A: Our parasite remedy does the job OK and we have seen flukes get nuked, as well as their eggs. The walnut fixation comes from Hulda Regher Clarke. It also works, but then – –she doesn’t know about olive leaves and artemesia. So don’t worry either way.
A: the 12 year old seems to be into puberty and a boost of testosterone, hence oily skin and pimples. Give him zit zapper, because they love picking them and will not listen! Good idea to take calmag powder but it will not “cure ” them. I used Metinox tablets, from Lennon. It’s an old fashioned boil and pimple remedy made out of tin oxode. It kept my son and daughter good and clear. All the best, Sue
Conceive with Agnus Castus and Sweet Potato
Q 1: I have been taking your agnus castus for a approx 2 mnths now, i am currently on my 2nd bottle, as i have irregular periods and trying to conceive. I am still regular, with a 45 day cycle, how long will it take for agnus castus to start working for me to regulate my periods and hopefully to go on to conceiving, as i am not ovulating, many thks
A 1: I suggest you now take the Red sweet potato drops to increase your progesterone levels. Finish the Agnus Castus anyway, but also now begin with the sweet potato. Take a good multivitamin like ladyvite and also extra vitamin E. supplements. It may be an idea to have a liver detox to detoxify, especially if you have been taking contraceptives for a number of years. Conception is a complex issue and the cleaner your diet and the better supplementation, the easier it is all round. Hormones play the major part but you cannot just rely on a bottle of drops without improving diet and doing regular exercise, drinking water and having regular bowel routines. The priority is to get those cycles regulated, so don’t give up. Best Regards, Sue Visser
Q 2: sorry to bug you, i got my bottle of sweet pot, how many drops do i take per day, and how many times, as i want to clarify this, as i read somewhere on your site that taking tooo much can cause you to skip your period.
i’m irregular and want to take this to help regulate my mensus thks
A 2: as indicated on the bottle – 10 – 15 drops per day of sweet potato. Best wishes, Sue
Sweet potato to delay menses
Q: Hope your well. I came across the sweet potato tincture for delaying menstruation on your website. I have just given birth and would like to opt for natural contraceptive methods, I have had a caesarean section and am exclusively breastfeeding and would like to continue breastfeeding for 2 years if possible. If I use this tincture as a method of delaying my period is it harmful to my body ( what about the impure blood?) and would it affect the breastfeeding. Also how long can it be used to delay the menstruation?
A: Delaying periods for years at a time is not wise. Mostly we use this remedy just to facilitate special occasions. I have tested it for 6 months, and the research team were not happy! But it did no harm. In your condition, breast feeding is a God given family planning scheme – but not guaranteed. If you get to know your monthly cycle and when you are fertile, why not use contraception like a diaphragm or just abstain for those days? For longer term, an IUD can be professionally inserted. I have a problem uderstanding why you shun physical methods of contraception and yet you want risky hormonal options that may affect your whole constitution. Contraception is contraception. Hormonal upsets are not my favourite option, so read my article on hormones and cancer and perhaps you will understand.
All the best with the new baby! Regards, Sue
Bipolar problem, blood type eating
Q: I bought your book Healthy Happy Eating 4 all blood types book and it is so useful to my whole family. My partner has been diagnosed with bipolar and has shakes from drugs he is taking and I was wondering if you have any diet you can recommend for him.
A: There is a lot of help you can get for bipolar disorders on the web. Also try the Google search and type in:
lithium orotate bipolar disorder natural treatment.
The best natural supplement that is safe to use and available at health shops (sorry, not in South Africa) is: The natural , absorbable form of lithium called lithium orotate. It is very effective, and does not have the bad side effects that the original psychiatric medicine: lithium carbonate had. Plus: you only need 5mg of lithium orotate as opposed to 100mg lithium carbonate. You can order it by e-mail from one of the shopping sites.
In addition to lithium orotate, and in the meantime, I suggest you get the following supplements as they will immediately make a big improvement and start the diet at the same time.
Go to a big health shop and ask for the following:
1 ) Vitamin B5 (calcium D-pantothenate) Made by Solgar or Health Connection.
Take 100-200mg at lunch and supper
2 ) A good multivitamin, such as MENSVITE by Vitaforce
3) Omega 3 oils: eg cod liver oil or salmon oil if you can afford it.Take as
directed.
4) Nature Fresh Calcium Complex – powder is cheaper than tablets.
Diet: Eat and treat accodring to the blood type diet. Eg: if type O, encourage a lot of hard, physical activity like digging in the garden, boxing, running, etc to relieve stress. Try the anti-inflammatory diet for a few days, but adjust to blood type.If still on medication that causes tremmors, try to ease off, once the supplements kick in. The Calcium and magnesium will help to calm the shakes. Hope this is going to help you and keep up the good work. Regards, Sue Visser
Male hormones: Sweating and excessive breast tissue
Q 1: I sweat a lot, even when I am not feeling hot. Please help me. Thank you Sue, i really appreciate the help
A 1: I assume it is only underarm that you sweat. Best to take tissue salts like NAT MUR to control water imbalances as they sometimes connect to headaches, low blood sugar, contipation or dry skin as well. As a deodorant I recommend a pinch of bicarbonate of soda underarms before dressing. Do not use alkaline soaps as they can aggravate the problem. See https://www.naturefresh.co.za/ for more about tissue salts. Regards, Sue Q 2: Yes it is more the underarm area but also the upper half of my body, chest, back and stomach. Though it is more so under the arms. There is no foul smell at all, it is just the perspiration problem that leaves my clothes embarrassingly damp at times.
I also have another more serious problem, i hope you can help me. I have a condition called gyneacomastia. It is not constant, it simmers down in cold conditions or excessive exercising. But is there some cure to this…other than surgery?
Thank you once again, eagerly awaiting your response
A 2: The sweat:could be a thyroid problem, especially if you are making too much oestrogen and it could be playing up. See the new info on: The iodine story on our website. You definitely have a zinc deficiency!!!!! Unfortunately most of the testosterone converts to oestrogen if you have a zinc deficiency. This results in the unwanted enlargement of breast tissue and possibly causes sweating because your liver seems unable to expel the oestrogen. To get rid of the problem, do a liver and gallbladder cleanse and you will feel a lot better. Then take at least 30mg of zinc – from any health shop. If you are in South Africa, get hold of our products: MEGAMAX and TRIBULUS as soon as you can to build up the testosterone levels and get rid of the problem. Surgery is no good – it will not change the misbehaviour of the hormones, trust me. I would be interested to know if you experienced any pain in armpits and around the side of the chest at any time? Don’t worry – if this was due to prolactin, MEGAMAX will sort it out. But best of all is to have a good detox, so your liver processes the hormones correctly in future. All the best, Sue Visser
Problems too many, frustrated with doctors and medicines
Q: I found your site on the internet today and I really love the sound of your products. What I like the most is that your products are natural!! Heaven knows I’ve had just about enough of popping pills and the constant visits to the doctor drive me up the wall…
I wake up every day of my life with a stuffy nose and just feeling generally clogged up. The headaches bugs me the most, I feel tired and irritated all the time. I’ve had anything from bronchitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, bladder infections, yeast infections and urinary tract infections. And as luck would have it I’m also lactose intolerant and suffer from all kinds of allergies. My main health issues are asthma, anemia and IBS and my daily battle with allergic rhinitis.
I’ve also experience a sudden breakout of acne and at twenty eight that should not be a problem. It’s not normal acne; it’s like a bump under the skin and it stays there for much longer than just a pimple. My previous doctor said it’s hormonal but I don’t know. It’s only on my chin and mouth area! Why am I writing to you? I need help to figure out what the hell is going on in my body… No doctor has ever shown enough interest to try and solve this mystery and I have a theory… all of the above sprouts from one place and that is my allergies!!! Except for the anemia, IBS and the acne, I really don’t know were that’s coming from.
I would really appreciate some input and any advice you can give me will be very welcome. I am a 28 yrs old female living in Port Elizabeth, I developed asthma
in high school. Don’t have it that bad, I’ve never been in hospital for it but I came close one day! On and off I use cortisone pumps and daily I use venteze.
I struggle with my weight, I now weight 71kg and for my height 1.63m, my healthy weight is 58kg. I desperately need answers… I would also like to know it there is a distributor of naturefresh products in Port Elizabeth.
A: Your list is very familiar to me! Fortunately there is an excellent doc in PE familiar with my protocol and a good diagnostic person full of common sense: Lyn Kellmann and you can get her details from our rep: James Goedhals: 041 379 5742 cell 072 2559449.
You need to get rid of dust mites in your bedroom! Move your bed and spray, vacuum and wipe the floor every day. Best is to have no carpet under the bed. This will help will mucous and headaches. Take the tissue salt: Calc phos for post nasal drip and watch out for wheat and milk intolerances. Chances are that you need a parasite cleanse, followed by the gallbladder flush. Then, with a cleaner slate you can eat according to your blood type, read up on our site about PCOS, take the coleus tincture with MEGASLIM and start feeling like a new girl. For the hard pimples, use the Chasteberry tincture. All these items and info sheets can be searched for on our website. For pimples and hard sore bumpy ones, get some METINOX tablets – ordered from a pharmacy to stop the syndrome – it could be a tin deficiency and this also relates to asthma! See the iodine story on the home page for an in depth look at another deficiency most of us have! Iodine – is cheap one stop shopping and easy to treat.
There is a lot to do, but each thing adds up and helps with other symptoms, as you will see. I am here for remote support and Lyn can keep a close eye on you. All the best, Sue Visser
Coleus to help high blood pressure
Q 1: COLEUS HELPS FOR:
asthma and hypertension
mild congestive heart failure,
eczema and psoriasis
digestive weakness and IBS
persistent urinary infections,
is anti-inflammatory, anti-histamine and soothing to the nervous system.
Vital to communication between hormones and neurotransmitters
to treat symptoms of low oestrogen or testosterone,
effective for weight loss and fat burning with prevention of subsequent fat storage
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN USE THIS PRODUCT I AM o NON-SECRETOR.
A 1: Many O non-secretors are using coleus and and are doing very well on it. Hope it helps you too! Love, Sue Visser
Q 2: I started taking the Coleus on Friday afternoon and at 3 am Saturday I had the most awful migraine. I then on Saturday had only morning and afternoon and was fine but taking the same dosage on Sunday had migraine at 7 Sunday night.
Reading the article on this I would have thought that it would help the headaches. I am currently on adcoretic for blood pressure and had a full hysterectomy many years ago. I have stopped taking HRT for more than a year and have lost a lot of weight with the blood type diet. Please assist.
A 2: Taking coleus with a high blood pressure medication can cause headaches. As you know, headaches can be a nasty side effect of medications. It is best to gradually increase the coleus from a few drops a day whilst you decrease the medication to avert this conflict. Coleus lowers blood pressure in most people once the dosage has stabilised and this takes a few weeks. Tammy who works with us had this experience and has been off HBP medication and now: no more headaches and she just takes her MEGASLIM every day, because it contains coleus and is making her weight drop off in chunks. I am glad the blood type diet has helped you. I am sending you the info on coleus and HBP again. Let me know if there are other problems. Love, Sue
PCOS in Dubai needs natural cure – a wonderful success story!
Q 1: I am living in the UAE – Dubai and I have been listening to your radio show today on PCOS.
I had been diagnosed with PCOS about a month ago. The gynae had prescribed Yasmin contraceptive pills and that was it! She requested that I return a month later and she will do another checkup. She did say that I needed to control my diet (I weigh 53kg…I am not overweight) but I now understand that she meant my eating habits (less junk food and carbohydrates). She did not take the time to tell me what PCOS is, how it is caused and offer more advise. I researched more on this syndrome and found that all of the symptoms have related to me, I have been losing hair, my skin has completely changed, it was once smooth and clear, now I have dark patches and dark spots etc (I do not feel pretty anymore), I have had hair grow on my face, my chest, my stomach….and I feel awful!
I do not want to take Yasmin anymore as it makes me nauseous, I have fever, my breasts are very sensitive and have really grown (not pleasant) and overall it has just worsened my moods etc. I want to take the homeopathic route, and I would like to know how I can get your products here in Dubai. What do you recommend I do and if necessary, I am willing to have the products sent by DHL to Dubai. Please help me as I want to have a healthy life, I am effectively trying to control my diet and make a positive change. Looking foward to hearing from you soon.
A 1: I have enclosed some information for you. With overseas people, we first try to match up products you can source locally: Definitely raw pumpkin seeds, zinc and saw palmetto. Try to look for chasteberry tincture. If you can only get tablets, then we can work out an amount to suck under the tongue. We do not have any marketing in your part of the world and do not even know what the health shops and pharmacies can do. It would be wonderful to trade with them so they can help others in the same predicament.
The diet definitely makes a big change. For skin, take 15 – 30 mg of zinc for the dark patches. Stay out of the sun and away from anything containing copper.
Best regards, and thanks for mail from Dubai – we hope to visit sometime this year and can do free talks and workshops – God willing. Sue Visser
Q 2: You cannot imagine my delight after receiving your email so promptly. Thank you so much.
I managed to purchase the following:
– Pumpkin Seed Oil – 1000mg (Dubai imports 99% of it’s vegetables, so sometimes it is not easy to get fresh produce or ‘seeds’ as it would be in SA.
– Saw Palmetto Extract – 160
– Zinc Citrate – 50 mg (The health shop did not have a lower dosage)
The store did not have Agnus Castus or chasteberry either. I will try tomorrow at another store. I will finish the pack of pills I have, but I have started taking the health supplements above already.
It would be wonderful if you could visit Dubai, I was surprised at the number of women that have PCOS in Dubai. The lifestyle here is unhealthy. We always eat out (it is cheaper), we are always stressed and in a rush, often working 9-11 hours a day, the cost of healthy food is shocking (a kilo of holland tomatoes is about R60-80) etc etc. I was super healthy and in fit shape when I was in SA, but being in Dubai for 5 years, I have noticed a significant difference. I really strongly feel you would do very well here in Dubai as women desperately need someone like you for assistance and proper advise on treatments etc. The South African community is also very large in Dubai (about 40 000 or so) so I am sure you will find assistance here easily. Let me know if you need any help. Once again, thank you so much, I really appreciate the documents you have sent as well.
A 2: Well done so far. Gosh – tomatoes that cost that much. Hope you can buy plain old lentils, then you can sprout them for fresh food! (see notes). my daughter gets best results with saw palmetto, so get started with what you have so far. Giving workshops is very ambitious of me, but we try to reach out wherever we can and perhaps some clubs, wonen’s associations, etc will link up to facilitate the awakening of natural health is a place where money is not short, but fresh produce certinly is!
All my love, Sue
Result: Good morning, I want to take this oppurtunity to thank you.
I took the herbal medication you had advised … and the results…amazing!
Three of my friends have been diagnosed with PCOS and I have sent your email to them…they actually have some hope as they were feeling depressed and upset that the only solution was to take the pill.
As for me, I went to the gynae for my scan and we could visibly see the cysts had shrunk…the Doctor was shocked! In a month, I had seen results, I told her about the herbal medications, her response was very disturbing. She advised that I should not take homeopathic medications and it is the pill that is giving the results!
I of course have ignored her advise and continue to take the herbal medication, I feel better, my skin looks fantastic and I am happy. I hope that i will get an oppurtunity to meet you to thank you personally. Warm regards,
Flaxseeds and oestrogen
Q 1: One question: somewhere I read that one must be careful with flaxseed – in afrikaans they say it causes :estrogeen oorbelading. Flax is not soya?(I know soya can cause that problem. Or do I have my ducks not in a row..??) Please advise. Last question: if i compare vitamins , how do I work out if a vitamin is in IU compared to mcg or mg?
Thank you very much for all your help in the past.
A 1: quack quack, your ducks are in a row: flaxseeds do provide estrogen, so we don’t have a whole plateful at a time, but a few teaspoons is excellent when ground-up in cereal to keep elimination – especially liver, in good shape, provide a hormone or two and to supply much needed omega 3 oil. Soya beans, especially whole are dangerous because they have cancer causing compounds in the skin. (Trypsin inhibitors) They agree with type A. I use a little soya protein in baking.
Q 2: The gallbladder flush – fantastic, but is it safe for a child of 10 to go on it? My son has kidney stones – I gave him lots of Vit C and he is acidic (and of course I read about vit c in overload can cause kidney stones etc. – bit too late but i am learning!)But even so, I see it as a great way to clean out allllllll muck. Thank you again for your wonderful advice.
A 2: Your son had better run a mile! Flushing should be no problem, but more important is to first get rid of the stones. Then he probably won’t need the liver flush. a good product is TIBB brand’s RENOTONE. It can remove the stones. Remember that kidney stones form when deficient in Vitamin B6 and magnesium, so get some magnesium separately – even Phipp’s tablets. vitamin B6 can also come separately by VITAFORCE. Give about 25mg to a 10 year old, I would think. Please do more google research on the kidney stones. Take it easy with the gall flush and perhaps introduce it as a family event, even if the whole protocol is not perfect. Our family does it every 6 months and now I want to do it every quarter – spring, summer, autumn and winter it makes me feel so good!
Secretor status blood type diets
Q: Hello there,
Please help me to determine my secretor status. My blood group is O, but has recently been told, by a ‘medical’ person that she is not so sure as I have three children with different blood groups (2A’s and 1 B), which, to my knowledge, is quite irrelevant to my status. I have high cholesterol (genetic) and am on Prevastat as well as Metformin. I studied the ‘TEST YOUR BLOOD TYPE’ on the web page but do not understand it. I would appreciate if you could recommend some good supplements. My age is 64, weighing 68kg. 1.71 cm tall and a stress ball!! Looking forward to your reply.
PS I have, unsuccessfully, tried to get an appointment with a therapist here. (Centurion, Pretoria)
A: You best suit the O non-secretor (O2) food column, according to my testing. Your husband is most likely blood type AB, hence the different children.
No need to stress! I am sending some recipes and food info for all blood types to get you started.
When O’s stress, they feel better after a lot of strenuous physical labour or exercise. Your high cholesterol may be from eating too many simple carbohydrates – a common problem and easily corrected by diet alone. You may also benefit from looking at Syndrome X, as I see insulin resistance being your biggest problem.
We usually start people off with a good liver and anfd gall bladder flush out and then onto the O2 diet, for you.
Supplements: Ladyvite, cod livle oil, Nature Fresh Calcium complex, olive leaf tablets.
For better food assimilation & for stress: vitamin B5(calcium D pantethonate) By Vita Force – 1 with every meal.
To get rid of athlete’s foot:
Q: I trust that you enjoyed your walk this morning. Isn’t it just a stunning day today ! Help please ! How do you treat and get rid of athlete’s foot !! Your response would be greatly appreciated and many thanks for sharing your knowledge on Radio786.Take Care,
A: 1) Rub on Nature Fresh Olive leaf tincture a few times a day. Parasite Remedy can also be rubbed on. Some people use our Bee Balm every night and it clears up beautifully.
2) Make sure all wet areas like shower floors, etc are kept clean, are wiped down with jik and kept as dry as possible – to kill the fungus.
3) Some cases only respond if a whole course of Parasite Remedy is taken, as well as being applied to the feet. There is often a connection with skin conditions to internal parasites, so get rid of them both – it works!
4) Try to be barefoot or wear sandals as much as possible.
If all else fails, somebody once said the best way to get rid of an Athlete’s foot is to cut it off! but stick to my advice and it should clear up within a week or two.
PCOS and praise for Nature Fresh products
Q!: When doing routine shopping for home I found a bottle of Vaginal cleaner a hidden amongst bottles of hand cream. I examined the bottle and saw that it contained tree tea oil which I have read was good for treating thrush and being a sufferer I took a chance and bought the bottle. Best purchase I have ever made!!! It brought instant relief and I have since been telling all female friends and acquaintances alike about what Oprah would define as an Aha moment!!! I tried explaining my miracle find to my husband but……… men don’t always get it !!! I cannot believe that I had almost missed this wonderful product. It will definitely become part of the family as I have introduced my fifteen year old daughter to it as well. My curiosity now stirred I went onto your website and was amazed at the products you have to offer. Being a PCOS suffer I was exited to read advise given to others and products available to treat the symptoms. Definitely the next products I will invest in.
A1 : Aha! we love letters like yours and are so glad to make a difference to people’s lives. Our business is about service, so please feel free to request any further advice you need. PCOS ladies need special care, so I have sent you some more info. My daughter only came right after a complete overhaul of diet, colon cleanse, chasteberry and parasite treatment. Well worth is for a new body, mind and glowing skin! I am happy to say that many ladies following this protocol have had babies, when told there would be little or no hope. As for potential diabetes, they managed to avoid that as well as the skin issues.
Regards, Sue Visser
Thanks: Thanks for your wonderful response! I’ve been trying to fall pregnant for 7 years now. My main problem is dealing with being overweight by 35 kilograms. You have given me hope again by hearing of the success your daughter and others have had. I will keep you posted on my progress. Once again a big THANK YOU!
Bad taste halitosis loves milk
Q: From the bottome of my heart thank you so very much for your reply and the wealth of info u sent me. You are very generous. May you always go from strength to strentgh.
I do find that your reccomendation to abstain from milk really strange. I love milk. Is it that you have a problem with milk itself or is it just that the milk nowadays is very bad for us?
All i can tell u is that if i drink milk from a satchet i get a disgusting smell in my mouth wheras if i drink everfresh milk its not so bad. Whenever you do have the time could you advise me on what to take for halitosis. I get this furry layer of white on my tongue thats just awful. What can i do about this.I will be following up o your other advice. thank u, once again
A: If milk is not beneficial for your blood type, it is best to avoid it or reduce to very little- just in tea and coffee. If you need to know more, look up milk at: http://www.dadamo.com/ I did not do the research, they did! Anyway, milk these days is not too pure and natural. I still have the odd bit of Feta cheese and yoghurt, but am certainly better off without downing a few glasses of milk during the week.
The bad taste and fur on the tongue can be a few things:
1 An old sinus problem, or infected adenoids or tonsils. Milk generates mucous, and residues in the sinus can give a really bad odour and taste. Stay away from milk and see if it helps.
2 Your pH may be too acidic. If out of balance, and especially if your digestion is not good, you get fur and a bad taste. Best to take Nature Fresh Calcium Complex every night, to help detox and balance out.
3 With acidic saliva, if you have metal fillings, they can become eroded and a sign of metal poisoning is a bad taste. A good homeopath can sort it out with the remedy: Merc Sol or simila, according to symptoms. But first see how a cleaner diet and the calcium help.
4 For good oral hygiene, Use Nature Fresh Toothpaste and the Breath Buster Anti-microbial mouthwash. Use the Breath Buster drops in between brushing and there will be no more unpleasantness.
5 Using a lot of fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash causes the mouth lining cells to die off too rapidly and this can also contribute to mouth odours – a viscious circle and these products win both ways when it comes to sales!
Hope you have enough info now. Regards, Sue Visser
Epilepsy mood swings blood type B
Q: I have previously received very valuable feedback from you guys for which I will always be grateful.
I have friend (female, 42 years old) who needs guidance on the following situation –
1 she is currently on epilepsy medication
2 she’s experiencing stages of mood swings
(not everyday) but particularly in the morning
3 she has outbursts when this occur but
realises afterwards that it was in fact
very silly of her to react that way
Could this be the onset of PMS? Her blood group is B positive.
Is there a herbal “substance” you can recommend she supplement with? Your assistance and advise is,as always, much appreciated.
A: good news is that omega 3 oils and large doses of cod liver oil ( 2-4 teaspoosn a day or the equivalent of capsules made by Vital (cheapest) do wonders for the brain – all types of nasties like bipolar (I suspect your friend has a touch of this,by the symtoms) This oiling up of the brain is mostly what the gurus like Jonathan Wright are recommending as a solo treatment. Also a good supplement like VITAFORCE ladyvite – i like this one as it is a slow release. For herbs, ask the health shop for suitable flower remedies, homeopathic, etc. They like to work personally with you. Take our calcium complex at night as part of the package to help the Bvitamins along. If really diligent, do the parasite cleanse as workm cysts in the brain cause manic behaviour.
Bear in mind that blood type lectins can interfere and B’s have a big problem with chicken and wheat – that’s the shortcut for them but they get very perverse, so do your best. Also use the anti-inflammatory diet for guidance and lay her off any sweet, bread and cookie binges. B’s are good with dairy and you can add flaxseed oil to yoghurt with honey. Watch the blood sugar. PMS would have struck long ago. At this age it would be more blood sugar wobbles and that can cut out brain activity, causing a mini episode in itself. Please don’t quote me as I am not a medical professional, just a researcher.
Love the Nature Fresh vaginal cleanser!
I have just recently, and may I add, on a “gut” feeling purchased one of your products namely the Vaginal Cleanser. I was actually looking for the Bidex product when I happen to notice your
products.
Well, what a find !!! I cannot begin to tell you what it has meant to me and how much it has changed my life. I had been suffering from such discomfort and because of your product and the quick and may I emphasize
natural way that it responded to my body, have been relieved greatly. I then visited your website and the wealth of information that I found there is tremendous. I am one of six sisters and we have a saying… ” we are not supposed to know everything, and when we discover something new, we share”
So shared I did indeed !!. When I was in agony and not knowing what was wrong with my body, I would have been very grateful if someone could have shared this info with me.
Skin pigmentation linked to blood sugar
Q: I would like to know if it is possible that you can assist me with the following problem.
My son (21yrs old) went to see a dermatologist for the dark marks he has on his hands , neck and chest.
She diagnosed it as Acanthosis Nigricans(disorder of hyperpigmentation). She did however prescribe creams for his condition. I would like to know if there are any herbal remedies for this condition. I will take him for a blood test to check his insulin levels. I would like to know if we can work this problem from the inside and not just from the outsidewith creams. Thanking you
A: This skin condition is linked to high insulin levels, so have the tests done and follow this general advice I have been giving for years to diabetics, especially with insulin resistance:
1 Cut out all sugar, white flour and fried foods. If blood type B then cut out all chicken as well.
2 Eliminate parasites and go on the fruit and veg healing diet.
3 Take the Vitaforce GTF chrome supplement to improve insulin control. as well as a knife-tip of cinnamon powder with every meal. 4 If overweight, the health diet will help to slim him down. Do at least 1 or 2 hours hard exercise: swim, run, walk, go to gym or do physical labour – gardening, cleaning, etc. every day. The skin creams may help the appearance of the skin, at a price and will not address the underlying insulin problem. Fortunately, I have a lot of experience with diabetics and insulin resistance and can say with confidence that one can really overcome this condition with diet, chrome supplements and exercise! Not a lazy man’s job – but you will look and feel a lot better, especially if the whole family get involved with a healthier life style. Regards, Sue Visser
Seeking assistance for cancer sufferer
Q: I have a dear cousin aged 65 years who was diagnosed with lung cancer a few days ago. Just one month ago he was still working as a plasterer on building sites. The cancer has caused leakage of water and blood into his right lung and this is constantly draining into a bag with which he was discharged home. He does have a meeting with an oncologist on the 15 th of February at GSH where they will decide whether to insert a powdery substance into the lung lining to stop the water drainage. It is uncertain at this stage how far this has spread or whether he would even receive chemo. He is mentally and physically fairly strong. Is there any supplement we could purchase or treatment you could suggest for him at this stage?
Q: Thank you for your concern about your cousin. There is a lot we can do for cancer patients and I work with a team of wonderful helpers. Cement inhaled into the lungs seems to have done a lot of damage to him. For more of this kind of detailed information and how to handle the problem, I would seriously advise a few BODY TALK sessions – see attachments for website details. Also see George Heye as soon as you can – a good friend of mine. I would recommend a course of Nature Fresh Parasite Remedy immediately as cancer and parasites are well connected.
Our prayers are with you and look forward to lots of support and healing. Regards Sue Visser
Reply: Thank you so much for your guidance. I will follow your advice for my cousin and myself and will inform you of progress if that’s okay with you. Kind regards
A: Wonderful, may all go well. Thinking of you, Sue and all at Nature fresh
Nature fresh Intimate hygiene products while pregnant?
Q: as wondering if you could possibly assist me. I’m 8 weeks pregnant & my pharmacist recommended that I try your Personal Lubricant because it’s water based & contains Tea Tree. I just want to make sure that this product is safe to use while pregnant? I’d really appreciate your feedback! Thanks
A: The safest treatment for pregnant women is to use our Nature Fresh Rooibos Vaginal cleanser: this will correct the pH balance both safely and gently, should you be experiencing dryness or irritation. Normal soap and shower products can cause irritation. Next, if still uncomfortable, use a little of our fragrance free lubricant. Some people use products containing tea tree, but at 8 weeks, it is best to be cautious. Infections in this case, eg: candida, etc are usually alleviated by balancing the Ph and our products are nature identical in this respect.
All the best for your happy event! Regards, Sue Visser
Blood type AB hormones exercise migraines weight control
Q1 : A friend referred me to Sue’s book and website. I have bought the book and am following some of the suggestions, but have a question or two. My friend says it is possible to email Sue for personalised advice; may I do so at this address?
Q2 : I have only recently been introduced to your work. I’m busy studying your book and your website, and finding it very interesting.
I am 43 and have been experiencing menstrual migraine for about 8 years (for the past 5 years effectively controlled with zomig). I have recently managed to achieve the almost complete cessation of these (about 5 months now) using a low dose estrogen replacement for three days before my period and, most interestingly, cutting out wheat. (Strangely, I can sometimes get away with eating wheat with no symptoms at all, but other times if I eat it (when I become careless) I get an almost immediate reaction: very tired, heavy, headachy, depressed, etc).
I have exercised regularly since I was 24 and continue to do so (at present due to high workload only 2-3 times per week) and my problem is that exercise seems to bring on migraines, especially during the two weeks around my period … leading to a vicious cycle of not exercising, eating more, feeling down etc.
What I have noticed about the syndrome is that I will exercise for perhaps 30-40 minutes of a normal class and although I won’t be particularly tired muscle-wise, I will be very over-heated and my face will be very red, as though the blood is trapped. My face will take a good hour or two to return to normal colour, and within the next 6-8 hours I will often develop a migraine. (At other times I can do an aerobics class for an hour with no ill effect – although I am doing this less and less often, preferring to leave the class early for fear of pushing myself into migraine mode.)
Do you have any idea what this is all about and how to go about alleviating this unfortunate spiral? I have a heavy body type, and have always needed to exercise regularly in order to keep my weight under control – and I enjoy the cheerful-making effect of exercise!
(my blood type is AB, I think probably non-secretor). Many thanks
A1 ; When it comes to estrogen, I have a natural approach and prefer to help people make their own hormones rather than take them artificially. There are many other factors to migraines, so they must also be considered. A healthy
person should not get any “menopausal” symptoms as the body reduces estrogen levels for later stages. I usually recommend the following steps and tend to be a bit of a tyrant in this regard.
1 Adequate supplementation: Nature Fresh Calcium & magnesium complex. Every night. Magnesium deficiency is a major cause of vasoconstriction, causing headaches.
2 VITAFORCE Ladyvite for mature women. This slow release pill helps a lot. You may need more Vitamin B6 if you tend to swell up too much prior to menstruation. Vital cod liver oil capsule daily. or omega 3 supplement
3 Nature Fresh Hormone balancing drops. See attachment and select according to your symptoms. These have been in use for nearly 10 years and balance the estrogen problem. If this really is the cause of those migraines. there tends to be a lot of brainwashing in the media about these “headaches”. They don’t happen if you eat properly – well timed little meals and no junk food. Also drink plenty of water between meals and snacks.
4 Balance your blood sugar, See notes. Low blood sugar causes hot flushes and headaches and is not corrected by sugar, glucose or enegy drinks at the gym – they make it worse, especially if taken on an empty stomach.
5 Have a good detox and clean out liver and parasites. Most estrogen gripes I get stem from an overburdened liver, so take time to do the liver and gallbladder flush and you will suddenly feel amazing.
6 Do regular parasite cleansing. Easy enough to take a course of Nature Fresh parasite remedy every month or two. It contains artemesia which is also a wonderful estrogen modulator for women and helps to prevent cancer.
7 Eat strictly according to your blood type once you have cleaned out. Migraines that are triggered by chocolate, (very popular at certain times of the month), red wine or fermented foods relate directly to sludge in the gut caused by years of eating foods that don’t suit your blood type and funny enough, these are the ones we sometimes crave most. (Allergenic addiction).
8 Exercise and laughter are the best medicine but the mind is strong enough to either pull you onto the sofa or drag you off to exercise classes. Regardless, get more active every day and climb stairs, do mini sessions yourself and those 100 sit ups before bed.
That’s the best I can do and have done for many people but hear very little of their success. It is not an easy protocol, but the whole process alleviates most ailments you tend to put up with all your life. Been there, done it and now stay vibrantly healthy and happy.
Q3 : Okay. I will do as you suggest and report back in 3 months. One question though: I considered the liver detox but feel afraid of the quantities of oil given my body’s propensity to make fat from fat … can you allay my fears on that one? Thanks so much
A2 : the oil is used to propel out the waste and clean the gall bladder. It all comes out. People who don’t eat enough oil tend to block up the gall bladder over time and stones develop. After 2 days of no oil, the last stage is only a pleasure and with lemon juice your body really seems to want it. I do it every 6 months.
Go well, even better and I look forward to your results. Regards, Sue
Herbal Hormone Regulator – RED CLOVER
Q1 : Good day, I’d like to know if this is safe to take while breast feeding. Thanks & Regards,
A1 : I would not advise taking any form of hormone regulator whilst breastfeeding, especially during the first few months. If you are feeling faint or dizzy, it may be from low blood sugar. Try eating smaller meals every two hours, especially more eggs and tuna, etc.
Q2 : I was taking this before I fell pregnant because I have PCOS so I was hoping that I could start re-balancing my hormones again. When do you suggest I can start taking it again? My baby is only 4 weeks old. Regards,
A2 : Red Clover for PCOS? Did you really fall pregnant from this? Details please and congratulations. When you breastfeed, baby may get hormone treatment as well, so please be patient. I help many PCOS ladies, so take your time and read these notes for some background. You can attend to the diet in the meantime as insulin resistance is something you can do. We also recommend the blood type diet – excellent results, so something to look forward to. more at: https://www.naturefresh.co.za/ Regards, Sue Visser
Morning sickness
Q: Please can you advise me regarding morning sickness. When I did a search on your website reference was made to rye crackers, boiled water with lemon juice, honey and ginger, biltong and even chocolate.
Looking foward to hearing from you Regards
A: Have you tried these remedies? Try out what best suits you. Ginger is the best known anti-nauseant. Try mixing two teaspoons of powdered ginger and a teaspoon of cinnamon in a tablespoon of honey. Take a teaspoon at a time.
Then sip boiled water. Sometimes, morning sickness goes away when you eat something (I know you don’t feel like it!) Try a few slices of apple, even with the honey mixture. Sorry, there is no miracle cure and we all survived it – try advice from other ladies, you never know. I just stuck it out – and lost a lot of weight, so now I have a lovely figure and that is what kept me going. Best regards, Sue Visser
Asthma and eczema dermatitis
Q: My sister is an asmathic and has always been prone to eczema. But due to the her being a hairdresser the eczema on her hands has now turned into severe dermatitis. The doctors keep on treating her with cortisone ,which I feel has horrible side effects, beside the fact that her body will eventually build up a resistance to the cortisone-and then nothing will help. Is there anything in your range that she can use, as we have tried virtually everything else. She had a baby eight months ago and has just stopped breast feeding , and would like to start using something for her dermatitis. I know the state of her hands makes her very selfconcious , especially since she works with clients every day. I would appreciate any help or advice you my give me. Yours truly,
A: Yes we can help your sister, especially with our Bee Balm. She can use it during the day, but especially at night – very generously, especially round the fingernails as it helps to control the cuticles and prevent splitting. I use it after a bath, also nice for heels and elbows.
For the asthma/eczema syndrome, and they are connected, I would suggest she start taking an intense course of the following supplements every day. They allow the body to restore its own cortisone function and will not cause bloating or weight gain.
1 Take 100mg of Vitaforce or Solgar : Calcium D-pantethonate (vitamin B5) with lunch and supper.
2 Take 2x Vital cod liver oil capsules daily.
3 Take a good Vitamin B-complex or take Vitaforce Ladyvite.
4 At night, take a teaspoon of Nature Fresh Calcium Complex – good for everything, especially for new moms and to ensure a good night’s sleep.
You can also look at the blood type diets – see lead article and refer to our website for more details. Often wheat and milk can cause severe athma and eczema in blood type O and A individuals, so cutting them out makes good sense and can save a lot of money!
Response : Thank you for swift reply and help. I went and bought no less than four little jars of beebalm – one I kept for myself and let me tell you it makes a fabulous lip balm!!
I will keep you updated on her progress.
Diabetic diet dry skin
Q1: Please advise what a Diabetic diet should consist of ? Also, I’ve used the BeeBalm, and the olive tincture, but the dry skin does take a while to clear-up. Please advise does it ever go away ? Thanks
A1 : Sorry about the delay, but here are a lot of diets to look at. For dry skin, it is best to take supplements of Vital cod liver oil – Very cheap and you can take 1 or 2 per day. Vitamin E is also good to take or the tissue salt: NAT MUR – but it takes a week or two before the skin balances out. A good skin oi is pure sesame oil, as it soaks in well and olive oil works well.
Q2 : No problem, I understand that you are quite a busy lady. Does this also help for Athlete’s foot as those 2 products have been used for 2 weeks, and it has not quite cleared up
A2 : Dear Mariam, use the neat olive tinctire on the athlete’s foot a few times a day. You can also swab with a soultion of Milton(from somebody who sterilizes baby’s bottles) or soak feet in this mixture. For the big guns, it is best to take a full course of Nature Fresh parasite Remedy and wipe this tincture on the lesions. You see, even fungal infections like this can be related to body parasites inside you like worms and flukes – so nuke then all! Regards, Sue Visser
Lactose intolerance feeling yuk
Q: I was diagnosed lactose intolerant since birth. However from the age of 18month my mum as slow introduced me to dairy products. I could eat everything from cheese, drink milk, butter etc. but generally stay away from fresh cream or Ice cream. Up until last year October. At the time I thought it was just stress related. As my job at the time was very demanding and im studying part time and with the trauma of loosing my Grandmother in November and im busy teething: wisdom teeth (25years old now) From October month I have been feeling ill and sluggish. My tummy would be in constant pain, but bearable pain. But put it off to the Fasting period thought my body was just adjusting to no eating during the day. Then a few days after my Grandmothers funeral I was rushed to emergency room as i was throwing up for more than 3hours non stop. And for 5days i was in a coma like state. I couldn’t even pull myself out of bed. The Doctor after cross questioning on what i ate last diagnosed me Lactose intolerant. But I find that even though dairy does have extreme effect on me I cant seem to help myself I crave things like chocolate or something cheesy and then go on eating binge (knowing it will make me sick i just can’t help myself) I realised too that since the no dairy been cut out of my diet i have been grinding my teeth more.
In view of grinding teeth i realised my body must be lacking calcium and started taking Calcium supplements but i can’t even take this as my body rejects it. Get violently ill. Im now using Parmalot Lactose free milk which is great help and much more tastey than the soya milk. Now im able to have tea, coffee and cereal. And by the looks of things Seafood, koeksisters. has the same effect in making me ill the same way the dairy products does. There would also be times when the smell of food would revolt me. I can go up to days without eating or drinking anything. This is very worrying to me. I wouldn’t even want water What i need to know is am i really lactose intolerant? or is there somethingseriously wrong with me.I have been to numerous doctors for second opinions and each would tell me to watch what I eat. Please help me.
A: It would help to know your blood type, and I suspect it may be type O – these people are all lactose intolerant to some extent. They are also wheat intolerant and like to think they are seriously ill – all because they do not eatproperly! Don’t worry, you will soon feel a lot better on a healthy diet with plenty to eat and by taking a few more supplements, your cravings for the wrong foods will go away. We call them allergenic addictions and they indicate intolerances.I have attached dietary guidelines and recommend mainly fruit and vegetables. Eat dhal and hummus with rye bread and olive oil with a sprinkling of salt when you crave cheese. (See recipes with these items made out of yellow peas – delicious) Supplements:
Every day take:
1 x Vitaforce mensvite
1x 100mg Vitaforce calcium-d pantethonate(vitamin B5) one with lunch , one with supper.
2x Vital cod liver oil capsules daily
At bedtime: 5x Nature Fresh Calcium Complex tablets – no excuses, they contain no lactose! All the best, Regards, Sue Visser
Psoriasis
Q1 : I have been suffering from psoriasis for a very long time and have tried various forms of treatment. One in so many different treatment types seemed to work after a few years of trying all sorts of things. However this did not last long and after about 1 year it started to re-surface again. At the moment I am on a new treatment, been trying it for 1 year now, but it does not seem to be doing anything. I am looking for something new to try. Any suggestions. I know that there is no cure for this but I am looking for something that will show me the slightest bit of improvement. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated?
A1 : I have helped many people with this method for psoriasis. also type this word into the SEARCH at: http://www.naturefres.co.za/ as I have written it out many times.
1 Nature Fresh Bee Balm must be applied to the lesions, especially as soon as they emerge. Try to keep a good thick layer on until the skin clears up – yes it does! I formulated this product for my husband many years ago.
2 Take 2 Vital cod liver oil capsules every morning and a good multivit like Ladyvite. Take Nature Fresh Calcium complex at bedtime.
3 Try to eat according to your blood type. For instance, type A eating a lot of beef and fat causes lesions on the skin, and evry time Jim has it, the sores begin. Although tiny and well controlled by Bee Balm, there is a dietary link and too much animal fat affects psoriasis.
4 Try anything to improve circulation, especially of the skin: olive leaf tablets, a bit of ginger every day, etc.
New discovery since then! See our article on coleus. Taken internally and applied to lesions, it really works for psoriasis, I am told by natural therapists who have used coleus like this.
Q2 : Thank you so much for all the information and methods to help me with my psoriasis, it means a lot to me as I am starting to get to my wits end as what to use and what could get me some relief to this. I will get these products immediately and start using it.Do you mind if I stay in touch, for future queries or just to let you know how it is progressing? Thanks again
What brand of vitamins to take?
Q: I also want to know if you have any knowledge on Sportron’s products: Kim Michelle range for skin. Should I try it? I read the book Optimum Nutrition – Patrick Holford and he talks about Environ, but my skin became very dry. Which do you think is better ? I am on RVB at the moment very expensive but I wonder about Sportron (foodstate nutrients ) that is why their vitamins is so good. Do you recommend Sportron or Solgar’s vitamins??
A: It is fine to take any good brand of vitamins. I favour time released vitamins, as then the urine is not so expensive, co they last longer. Another advantage of a slow release product is vit B12, that needs time to reach the colon, where it proliferates and becomes active. Many vitamins, despite their credentials do not make B12 active as it is only effective via injections, a lozenge under the tongue or via slow release. We often suggest people break the Solgar bombs in half and have a bit every few hours, if they have laready got them. I take VITAFORCE Ladyvite myself and Vital cod liver oil, that does wonders for skin and everything else.
Hormone balance for menopause & hot flushes
Q: I contacted your offices re: a product I am currently using (agnus castus – hormone regulator). I was recommended this product by a saleslady in Canal Walk at a health shop, but after discussions with your office they suggest I e-mail you for info on the most suitable hormone replacement treatment in herbal form.
Hereunder just a brief description of my situation:
I am 41 years old and went into early menopause 6 yrs ago after surviving an ectopic pregnancy and having a surgical removal – 1 tube, 1 ovary out (what they apparently call premature ovarian failure). After trying a couple of HRT treatments which in my books did not work, I decided not to perservere further. At this stage I was still menstruating now and again with a much heavier flow than usual. The situation I find myself in now and desperate to take medication preferably with no side effects is mainly heavy hot flushes and sweating. 100% worse than before and almost unbearable. I have not also menstruated at all and have defined this as been in full menopause. Could you please recommend something strong! Am really tried of having my hairstyle messed and always feeling sweaty. In the meantime I shall continue with agnus castus. Trust you have a suitable remedy to recommend.
A: The practitioners I have worked with had good results with our Nature Fresh Sweet Potato remedy for your type of condition, where a progesterone boost is needed for supplementing dwindling levels of estrogen, etc. You can also chew raw sweet potato, it also is effective, so I have included my notes for your interest. Most ladies in this condition would really benefit from a live and gallbladder flush and have a look at my iodine story on the home page.
Ulcerative colitis loves sweet food
Q: Thank you for the great talk show on V.O.C in the morning. What cure do you have for ulcerative colitis. My husband suffers from this for the past 20 years. When he has an “attack” he starts a PREDNISONE course of 12 p/w & when he comes down to 2 or 1 per week, he gets severe “attacks” meaning he has to run 20 – 30 time to the toilet (no jokes).
Nowadays the prednisone does not seem to have an effect on him & he also suffers from cramps & pains. He went for several colonoscopy & sigmoidoscopes & when its inflammed he is back on the PREDNISONE.
I once heard on the radio that prednisone is BAD & would like to know what the effects are. My husband was also put on a course of ACACOL tablets but that made him nausea & gave him severe headaches,….. he then discontinued that.
Please Sue,….. what do u suggest. He loves everything that is sweet but also drinks a lot of water. Await reply
A: I hope this info helps you. Please be diligent and do everything as advised. It is not a lazy man’s job, but it could save his life. (I have had to deal with many really messy cases) Most important is to know that you have been feeding him all the wrong foods, neglecting parasite control and not taking the right supplements. I look forward to good results – very soon!
PCOS pregnant toothache
Q1: Hi Wanted to know what i can now take for toothache…….it is terrible because i think it is a little rotten….i am pregnant so i cannot mos go to dentist.
A2 : Glad to hear you are now pregnant! Let me know in what way I helped you, so we can learn more.
For toothache, pressing a clove or biting over the sensitve area helps for pain. It does not clear up the infection. Most pregnant ladies, especially after 3 months can take Nature fresh olive leaf tablets. Try 2 every 3-4 hours to stop the infection. Teh other alternative is propolis tincture. Available from a health shop and safe for preggies. Mix a teaspoon of honey with about half a teaspoon of propolis. Use this as a daily dose, divided into 3 or 4 small doses to press around the tooth and then swallow. By the way, honey does not rot teeth, but also helps with infections. Just keep it away from bread or chewed up biscuits in the mouth, otherwise it will!.
Q2 : Thank you very much for all your support and words. Doctor has put me on Metformin and i think that is a very good booster to make you fall preggies very fast.I was only on it for 5months.
I just pray and hope that all goes well with me with all your prayers. Is there any advice that you can give me with regarding taking care of myself.I would like to have a nice big baby GOD WILLING.
Any advice is gladly appreaciated.
A2 : Metformin is a remedy for diabetics! I am not happy to hear this, so am sending you dietary advice on how you yourself can control blood sugar. Best advice is to cut out the sugars, white flour and fatty fries and really make the effort to buy and prepare dishes that contain fresh fruits and vegetables and wholesome natural substances. This is what I did for my family and none of them have any diseases at all.
Q3 : The reason he put me on it…My sugar was tested fine but the insulin leave was slightly high which caused my hormones to go irrgeular thus not making me mentruate..Since i have cut down on my eating and loss weight my Mentrural cycle has returned normal and my hormones balanced out…..
This is a very common disease….and this is Called the PCOS.
A 3 : PCOS is a very complex disease. I am pleased to say many babies have been the result of treatment with our safe, natural hormone balancer called Chasteberry /Agnus Castus. Insulin resistance is just one aspect and people who take the dietary advice and apply discipline, like you have can live quite normally and fortunately fall pregnant.
Menopause inflammation alternatives to drugs
Q : just about to catch you, hoping that you are doing fine.Sue, i am in the middle of a management course where i have had just a 20 min break and thus being able to do this email. This am, at 5.00am and for the 3 days since the w/e i have been experiencing excruating lower back pain ie. 1st,2 and 3 vertebrae. Sue i have had this since March, April of this year and have been diagnosed with fibrocystitis of the lower back radiating down the left hip and knee, All these months i have been using your Naturfresh, Calcium, Mag., Phos, + Iron tabs, Meno clove etc. Now, i am experiencing not only these spasms of chronic discomfort to allowing me to step my feet out of bed or turning my head, neck when driving….. however, i managed to get to GSH -trauma unit where I received an anti-inflammatory shot from one of the sisters. I would appreciate a better rememdy and not using scientific meds…, since these seem to give me PALPITATIONS, ex.. voltaren, betaprophen etc……Lastly, the small amount of arthritis is definately there, however, the pain seemed to be associated with chronic ‘SPASMS’ which leaves me completely stiff from my left shoulder all the way down my left knee….. Extremely unpleasant and not coping…. associated with “hotflushes” ….and breathlessness…. Yes, i am menopausal for at least 15 months now… that i have not been getting a period.
Sue, from my side too much said…. i have to get going…. Please helpme., Lastly, where would i be able to find the “book on foods for all blood group types”…. on sale.. With kind regards
A : There is hope! the best anti-inflammatory is large doses of Omega 3 oils. Best to start with Vital cod live oil, 2 – mornings, 2 evenings for a week, then step it down. You can also pay more for salmon oil and some vitamin E. Next, go to the pharmacy for vitamin B12 / folic& B complex injections. A great help for all these symptoms. I have attached some dietary guidelines, therapist list and recipes. Hope you feel better. Remember to do some gentle back stretching during seminar breaks and drink plenty of water. All the best, Sue Visser
Response: Good morning, many thanks for your kind support and advice. Just to let you know, that i have indeed gone out to get myself on a healthy diet. Yes, and i have had an appointment with Dr. Les Emdin, whom prescribed for me a Nature fresh hormone tincture, for my hot flushes as well as Omega x 2 daily and a Vitamin. I am generally feeling much better now. Thank to Almighty and Thanks to you for your sterling work. Once again kind regards and many thanks.
Headaches affecting family
I would like to find out if you have any products to help me with a problem I am having.
Q: I suffer with headaches – I have a headache every day, usually in the early afternoon – but I can get one as I wake up or as I am going to bed. I have just started menstruating and as per normal, my headaches get worse. Except this time, the headaches are alot worse and I am actually ‘clotting’. I have chatted to a friend who uses natural products and is more clued up than me and she says it sounds like it could all be hormonal. I am looking for a product and/or advice on this as it is becoming a huge problem. I have 3 small children and this is really impacting on them. I have seen a GP about 2 years ago and he said I am going to have to ‘adapt’ to this way of life ie. headaches. Please help me.
A: Headaches are not funny. We will have to get to the cause of your problem and whew, there are over 70 basic headache factors. Because of the connection to the menstrual problem, we could suspect hormones. Most docs would pump you full of oestrogen but that will not be a long term solution, even natural health shop creams and progesterone. Not yet. Here is what I can suggest in order of priority:
1 )Do our liver and gallbladder cleanse. this is how you clear toxins – the major headache and reactive triggers. This is where we start with hormone correction as well. the body is not stupid and can make hormones —– once the liver is healthy. Part of this process is to do a full parasite cleanse (the whole family and the pets, please.) See the paper on parasites and you can get the remedy from a health shop in your area.
2 )Take supplements that reduce inflammation and headache triggers, known as prostaglandin PGE2. Big words, just take salmon oil and lots of omega 3 oil. Helpful is a tablespoon of ground up flax seeds in the morning cereal. This helps with oestrogen and eases constipation – another headache cause. Take LADYVITE for the rest and our Nature Fresh Calcium complex at bedtime – also for hubbie to relax and sleep better. Magnesium is essential to relax muscles.
3) Next is to make sure you are not suffering from low blood sugar. If headaches are coming after 2 hours since eating, then it is time to start having a healthy and nutritious snack between breakfast and lunch, and 2 hours after lunch. Be it nuts, cheese, a tuna sandwich or something with protein and noooooooooooooo sugar. Cut out the sweets and choccies and sugar laden juices or fizzy drinks. Drink camomile tea and even take feverfew capsules or drink the foul tasting tea. This herb is No1 for migraines, but know better than do override the errors. Drugs and painkillers get you out of a tight corner but are not the way to control a headache syndrome. Cutting out bread and sugar: simple to do and often a major cause of loopy blood sugar.
4 ) Lastly, you may need to check out for mechanical glitches in the spine that may have worsened due to tension you carry around the neck and shoulders.
This is the best I can do, so study the info – it has helped so many in the past, but is not a lazy man’s job. Start with the liver cleanse and you will definitely want to continue because you start to feel really good. Perhaps hubbie will join you – we all do it together and have a lot to laugh about! Lots of love, Sue
Odour problem causes discomfort – a very common problem with just about every woman!
Q: Good day I desperately need help. Is there anything you can recommend for me to use to alleviate the vaginal odor? I recently developed a fish like smell that makes me feel so uncomfortable.
A: Welcome to the real world! We have helped women for over 10 years to be free of such problems. Read the simple advice and use the Nature fresh cleanser instead of harsh alkaline soaps that make matters even worse. On our website look for the in depth article I wrote for a leading gynecologist on vaginal disorders and read it privately.
Regards, Sue visser
7 year old has poor appetite, frequent cough
Q: I REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR PROGRAMMES ON THE RADIO SHOWS.THANK YOU.
PLEASE HELP, MY SON IS 7 YEARS OF AGE HE HAS NO APPETITE FOR FOOD ACCEPT FRUIT OR DRY BREAD AND EGGS.HE CONSTANTLY GETS PALPITATIONS OF THE HEART WITH A COUGH EVERY 3 TO 4 MONTHS IN A YEAR.PLEASE RECOMMEND SOMETHING FOR HIM . THANKING YOU
A: Your son needs to be de-wormed or take the Nature Fresh Parasite Remedy – this is connected to all his symptoms which should clear up once the infestation is removed. Let him read our free e-book about food for young children called Yummy Yummy. Slowly introduce the new foods – especially tasty fruit with each story. Let him help you make a nice yoghurt, honey and fruit smoothie and you can drink it together, for instance. One thing that really works is giving children va itamin b-complex tablet in the morning. vitamin B1 makes them very hungry!
Toxic ingredients in herbal products – organic alternatives?
Q: My family loves your floride free Naturefresh toothpaste. I am however concerned about other possible harmful ingredients in your toothpaste. The following information I obtained from your website. “ All Oral Hygiene Products are non toxic, FLUORIDE FREE and safe to swallow.
No fluoride: it harms gums & periodontal tissue, causing loose teeth, pain and infection. Fluoride is very toxic. Excessive exposure damages the thyroid gland, is linked to weight gain, cancer and weakened immunity. There is no shortage of fluoride in our diet. More than 1mg per day can cause harm. We get fluoride from water, tea, coffee and most of our foods.
Our information is freely available to everybody
We have a very close relationship with all our customers and have formulated specific products for health practitioners and people who are sensitive to just about everything. Four years ago, in response to public complaints about fluoride in toothpaste, NATURE FRESH began to manufacture a herbal fluoride- free toothpaste for supermarkets in South Africa. We do our best to present you with the gentlest, safest and least toxic alternatives.”
A: We have excluded all harmful chemicals from the toothpaste. People misunderstand the need to be responsible with preservatives and surfactants. Yes, we have to use parabens as all the other antimicrobials have no guarantee of efficacy. We keep it to minimal levels, and in the GRAS (generally regarded as safe) zone.
We use sodium laurel sulphate – derived from coconuts: another GRAS at about 1ppm. We use vegetable based glycerine and cellulose. Nature-identical flavours. GRAS colours and a little saccharine, as it does not disrupt or distort metabolism and is excreted unchanged, as is. Toothpaste is not a foodstuff, but ours is safe to swallow small amounts that cannot be avoided when treating extraction wounds or mouth ulcers and gum infections topically. No adverse reactions have ever been reported, since we started in 1996! All the best, and big smiles, Sue Visser
Q: Dear Sue Thanks for the toothpaste info. We will continue using the Naturefresh toothpaste. Do you have ingredients lists of all your hygiene / personal care products available? Or could you send me a list of all the products that contain only organic ingredients? I am presently looking for an organic personal lubricant. The info below is from the CHOOSEHEALTH website and does not answer all my questions about the ingredients. This is a very general description which so many harmful products on the supermarket shelves also have. Thanks for your patience.
A: My personal lubricant was formulated on request for a Gynae who had patients allergic to KY jelly. Here, I used sodium benzoate as a preservative as it is food friendly and active within an acidic medium. The other ingredients as stated on my label are: water, methyl cellulose (plant based) glycerine (plant derived) citric acid, salt and essential oils. I do not have organic certification for these oils. Does it really make a difference? Customers love my three lubricants and have done so for many years. They work well with the vaginal cleansers we make and apart from sorting candida issues out, they have saved many a marriage! That’s the best I can do. Some of our ingredients, like salt, are not organic. An organic substance contains at least one atom of carbon within its molecular structure. How safe it is to consume is another story – but better than junk food and toxic chemicals, eh!
A: Here is a valuable site for truthful information about product ingredients. Stuart and I were the first ones to complain about water fluoridation to parliament, in 1996! We do a lot of research and like to get to the truth of health propaganda. Stuart has all the answers to fashionable “organic” concerns and his products are highly recommended. http://www.gaiaresearch.co.za/grapefruitseedextract.html
For over 10 years, we have both been working on safe ingredients. Organic components are not all completely safe to use as preservatives and do not have a good anti-microbial track record. We have honestly given up with natural and organic only products and have lost thousands down the sink as they get contaminated and have a poor shelf life. This is why I have gone back to using parabens as preservatives. If you drink bottled water, take HRT or herbal alternatives, then you are being exposed to hundreds of times more estrogenic disruption than from what is considered to be a reliable and safe preservative. I could not honestly give you a list of any commercial “organic” products to use. Best to use your own herbs from the garden plus: honey, oats, etc. Even make your own toothpaste out of salt and bicarb if you want to go that way, but throw away what you don’t use immediately or keep containers of your herbal mixtures in the fridge. I hope you appreciate my honesty.
Detox liver and gallbladder and kidneys. Do I need colonics?
Q: Hi, Thank u for such a lovely website. I deseperately need to detox. The last time i did was years ago. I would like to do a colon cleanse (as well as a liver and kidney if possible). i did not see method of colon cleanse on ur website. On “search” i came a cross the products advertised by other health experts, they are very expensive. can u please advice me how i can do a colon cleanse? if i do the liver cleansing (gall stone) which is on ur website (with olive oil and the epsom salt) would that be suffecient for my colon? plz advice. Thank u so much for u time.
Looking forward to hearing from u.
A: It is best to do your own cleansing, and the liver cleanse does it all! No need to take expensive products until you have done this process. It can be repeated a few months later and when done regularly a few times a year you will be able to maintain a clean liver as well as colon. There are separate measures for kidney stones (magnesium and vitamin B6 deficiency). I have enclosed some info for you to read.
When doing the liver cleanse, first go on our parasite remedy as then everything gets cleaned out. The trick is to stop eating the wrong food ever again. Eat natural fibre from your food, not expensive “cleaning” tablets and powders! You will feel marvelous a few days after all is done and your body will thank you for it (so will your wallet!)
Looking for no salt for high blood pressure
Q: Hi, I would like to know if you stock salt no salt or where if you tell me where I can purchase “no salt”. My doctor recommended that I use “no salt” instead of salt due to the fact that I suffer of High blood pressure. I am really a not very “salty “ person however I do like flavour my Jungle oats. I also use your Olive leaf tablets with Calmag everyday.
Please can you assist? Many Thanks and Regards,
A: I am sending you info on high blood pressure alternatives to medications. A little salt now and then does not cause high blood pressure. It is only when there is a potassium deficiency that it becomes a problem. This is why we advise you to use bitter blackstrap molasses. Take a teaspoon in a cup of hot water in the mornings and evenings. Cream of tartar, from the baking section is a lemon flavoured powder and ½ teaspoon in a glass of water makes a nice drink a few times a day. Do drink water often! Our olive leaf tablets also help to keep blood pressure under control: 2x morning and 2x evening and the Coleus herbal tincture lowers blood pressure and helps the thyroid and asthma. The Nature Fresh calmag powder plus a Vital cod live oil capsule does the rest. This natural system has many other advantages – plus keeping colds at bay and helping to control blood sugar. Go back to the website and type high blood pressure into the search box. All the best, Sue
PS: No salt can be used as a salt alternative. It is potassium chloride and has a pleasant saltiness but: when you eat it on something like popcorn, it removes the skin from the top of your mouth and can cause burning on the tongue.
Response: Hi Sue, I hereby would to thank you for the valuable info and alternatives to medications to control my blood pressure. I will definitely us your recommendations as I also prefer natural remedies rather than drugs.
I will also be finding out which fruit and veg have the most potassium so that I can add to my daily diet. Thanks again and regards , Sue
MEGASLIM, testosterone and diuretics
Q: I have purchased megaslim and the coleus tincture..I have high tetesterone levels and was previously on spiractin and glucophage… Must i discontinue the use of these whilst on your medication? My dad is a doctor and he is concerned…Thank you so much.
A: I am sending you more information on testosterone control. We generally succeed with natural remedies like Agnus Castus (chasteberry) tincture and saw palmetto to reduce testosterone activity in females. The diet sheet contained in Megaslim will help to control blood sugar and taking your medications simultaneously may be too effective. We can suggest you take half a dose of glucophage and monitor the effects, so you feel in control and the blood sugar does not drop off too suddenly. You can then ease off it witin a few weeks. I am glad your dad can monitor your progress.
There should be no need to take spiractin or other diuretics when you take coleus as it tips out the water very effectively and it is a good idea to drink sufficient water during the day. Odema, water retention and swelling is often a sign of dehydration in the first place.
All the best, and go MEGASLIM! We are receiving some excellent success stories and this makes us all so happy!
Sue Visser
Dear Nicola, you can try the shop: Elemental: 041 368 4504 as they know her. Sorry, James gave me a list of the therapists, but it’s gone awol. We contact him on his cell: 072 2559449, so try again and I am sure you will somehow geet hold of Lyn. I have tried different files for the diet sheet – we usually only have it as a package insert.
allthe best, Sue
Insulin resistance, PCOS wants a baby
Q: HELP! I am at my wits end. I am a 28 year old woman with severe insulin resistance and PCOS and both conditions have adversely affected both my potential to lose weight AND my potential to conceive. My gynae has placed me on Metaformin 500mg 3 times a day and she is says she will be able to assist me in falling pregnant, BUT I have to lose weight first. I have tried so many fad diets and I lose weight but it all comes back on – I just don’t know anymore.
I have some questions:
1) Do you have an eating plan that goes alongside the megaslim tablets?
2) Can I take the megaslim in conjunction with the metaformin?
3) Do you have a consultant in Port Elizabeth?
A: Fortunately you have an excellent therapist you can contact in PE. Lyn Kellman and you can ask our rep: James Goedhals 041 379 5742 cell 072 255 0449 for her details. Tell her I sent you. Meanwhile, browse through the information I am sending you. We have dealt with many cases of PCOS, and babies are the result of diligent eating and taking herbal tinctures. For insulin resistance it is very important to eat the right food. Metformin and a lousy diet will not help you fall pregnant, sorry. I can suggest the following procedure to speed up weight loss and get your hormones back into balance.
1 The Gallbladder and liver flush out. This includes Parasite treatment.
2 For PCOS, take our Chastberry (Agnus Castus ) tincture. At the same time, take the Coleus tincture, even at double the dose to wake up the thyroid and speed up metabolism. Lyn can check out the amounts and remedies you need as she also is skilled in kinesiology.
3 Immediately start with the MEGASLIM diet sheet – I have advanced it to you, and take the supplement.
4 It is always a good idea to eat according to your blood type to avoid further weigt gaining foods specific to your blood type. Lyn will advise you on the secretor status.
Not a lazy man’s job I know, but woth it all in the long run. The ladies who lose weight (over 10kgs in 3 cases) are thrilled and their lives change for the better all round.
All the best, Regards, Sue Visser
IBS problems Iodine Parasite Remedy
Q: I have to ask you something in the hope that you have the answer for me. Oh and I must say I found a shop the other day that stocks your products – which was most exciting… Ok back to the point of this email..
My hubby stopped has disturbed bowel movements and bloating…we researched his symptoms and decided that it was IBS that he was experiencing.Bloating, flatulence, burping and disturbed bowel function which doesn’t include constipation or diarrhea. So we went out and got him probiotics. He took that for 5 days twice a day. We also got magnesium and vitamin B and 5HTP. As my research shows that IBS can sometimes be caused by overly sensitive tryptophan receptors in the intestines. The B vitamin helps the body to absorb the tryptophan which is turned into serotonin and helps to heal the problem. Magnesium smooths the colon muscles to allow for easy elimination. We also cut out all wheat products. And he hasn’t changed a bit since then. No improvement in nearly 2 weeks. Now I have new info that makes me believe it might be a candida albicans problem in the gut. He had also experienced the headache associated with tryptophan deficiency. We always have proplis on hand, and I wondered if you know… does propolis kill off the beneficial bacteria in the gut too? I can’t find that info. And I am wondering if a heavy dose of propolis won’t fix the problem? Any info you can share with me on this subject will be a great help. And we gave him some wheat on friday night and it made no difference to his symptoms. So gluten intolerance is ruled out. The headaches have started to subside after including tryptophan, but the bloating has not eased up. I am SO reluctant to take him to a doc who will just prescribe suppressant options instead of addressing the cause. I look forward to your response. Hugs to you and Jim
A: We all like to rumble on about gas, but it’s so simple. Gas = parasites. I suggest the immediate use of our Parasite remedy. Take 30ml in a tot of water and and wait for relief. If still rumbling, take another dose 2 hours later. For 3 days, take these larger doses 1 or 2x per day for 3 days. This will nail the nasty critters whoever they are: possibly giardia. Parasite Remedy and olive leaf are gut bac friendly. Take another course, as per the label 3 weeks thereafter. You can tinker around with propolis and I have not heard of a gut flora wipe out – but it is best for bacteria like helicoba pylori, the critter responsible for stomach ulcers. (Yes, many cures for this have been reported from clients.) Another pathogen zapper is Lugol’s iodine. If you have time, read the paper I have painstakingly written. Gosh, my fingernails have turned into spanners and my hair is glorious from taking it. Perhaps the bowel was upset from eating something that caused an infection and is not related to tryptophan. For me, when the slightest gas or bloating is evident, a good 30ml slug of Parasite Remedy has worked within minutes. I eat a lot of gas producing food: pulses, sprouts, fruit , etc. and the Parasite Remedy stops the gas. Yay!
Response: You are an angel!! Thank you so much. I went and did a major nose around your website too this evening. I have olives growing in my garden, and hubby is getting put straight onto that tomorrow. I looked up the other suppliers for our area and we’ll certainly make a plan to get some Parasite Remedy this week. I will spend a couple of hours reading through all of this fab info tomorrow morning. And I was delighted to see that you have that iodine for sale now too!!! I was telling my Mom about it. Totally amazing, as she has an iodine allergy. But she knew about the different types of iodine and I’d like to send the article on to her to read. Thank you for always being ready to share with me. I knew if anyone would have the answer it would be you! Big hug to you and warm regards to Jim!
A: As you saw in the iodine paper, iodine allergy is more to organic forms. When in doubt, paint Lugol’s onto one of your foot soles and see if the skin gets irritated: itch, burn or blisters. People are very seldom allergic to Lugol’s.
Iodine article. Thyroid problems
Q: I have just read your Iodine article and was wondering if you could suggest somebody that I could see regarding my thyroid. I have been on Eltroxin for ages but I still have all the symptoms. It has reached a stage where I need to see somebody who has a real understanding of the subject. There are still too many symptoms for this medication to be doing even a small amount of good!!!! Your help will be appreciated.
Kind regards
A: So glad you are in the CT district because I would recommend you see James Liddell – a bit of a ride to the Blue Route, but he works closely with me. Tel: 021 713 2295.
Meanwhile, I can give you a lot of help with regards, to thyroid problems as I have dealt with many of the factors that compound the problem. Do the basics yourself: it lays a good foundation.
1 Do the liver and gallbladder flush for a start to get rid of wayward oestrogen and to tune up the liver. As you may know, oestrogen usurps thyroid receptors, so have the clean up.
2 Next, eat according to your blood type to avoid lectins from interfering with thyroid hormones.
3. Take our Coleus tincture as it is the missing link to activating the thyroid hormones. Here, I have seen stunning results, especially with weight loss and you can take it with eltroxin as it helps convert T4 into T3, the active form. Also get hold of the Lugol’s iodine and start taking it, to complete the equation – no need to drop the Eltroxin yet.
4. After a few weeks of this new discipline, go and see James and he can then suggest or supply more supplements and Homeopathic remedies – he practises natural medicine and has a good working knowledge of mainstream drugs such as Eltroxin.
5. Never feel your case is too far gone. Misunderstood – yes, but the body can right itself given a more favourable diet, a bit of cleaning and well chosen supplements.
All the best, Sue
Response: Thank you ever so much for the quick response. I will certainly implement these changes – funny I have just naturally started on the lemon and water story a week ago! (A type diet). I have guests arriving for my son’s wedding from the end of the week so I will have to do the liver cleanse story as soon as everyone leaves.
Again a great big thank you for just caring.
Iodine: how to take it?
Q: Sue you’ve convinced me about iodine. I intend to go and look for Lugol’s this weekend. An interesting story is that I once did body-building, and part of my no fat or carbs diet before competitions was to take kelp tablets twice a day. And during this time I had the strongest healthiest hair I have ever had (and not too long ago I was thinking that it was because back then I only ever washed my hair with ice cold water). But then after reading to the end of the iodine paper, I thought, perhaps it was the iodine in the kelp tablets that I took everyday for 3 years?I was super healthy back then, my skin never had pimples (even though I did body building from the age of 16-19), my skin was perfect, my hair was perfect, I had bright clear eyes and I never got sick. Illness just never happened to me.Anyway, so if I can’t find Lugol’s, should I take kelp again?
A: Thanks for your response and feedback. Amazing how simple natural things can be so minunderstood and overlooked. Best way to take the Lugol’s is to buy a cheap 200x pack of Brewer’s yeast tablets for R30 (by Vital). Then place a drop on each one and let them dry. This avoids having to drink the stuff. It can even be dropped onto kelp or olive leaf tablets. Whenever I open my supplement box, the 2 Siamese cats – now 6 months old, go crazy for the treated brewer’s yeast. They get half a drop a day (1/2 tablet) Well, all the cats around us are flea bitten and they are not. They bounce off the walls with energy and are in great shape: lean and very muscular. I take 3 treated tabs a day and also don’t have fleas! Next time I am going to put my Lugol’s drops on kelp tables. See what the cats do!
20 month baby not sleeping at night
Q: Good Morning Do you have drops I can use for my son 20months old he is not sleeping at night he drinks about 10 bottles of tea and I get no sleep. Is there drops I can use that won’t harm him. thank you
A: Herewith a web link to a product they claim works for sleep for small children.
The supportive information is good on this website, but if you can’t wait for the order to arrive, then just buy chamomile tea bags from the supermarket or health shop. They are brilliant for sleep. Please do not sweeten the tea. Sugar aggravates insulin and can cause blood sugar lowering that may wake him up. Gving more sweetened tea – especially ordinary tea that contains stimulants like caffeine could be the cause: 10 bottles a day? this also stimulates constant urination – also very disturbing for sleep. He should be having drinks of water as tea dehydrates one – even herb teas.
I: Give a dinner with good protein and veggies. No sugar.
2 A hot bath before bed and a reassuring cuddle helps. Also the aromatherapy oils used for babies that contain lavender. I have used a few drops of lavender oil diluted with olive oil or a carrier oil to knock out the most hyper tots: you gently stroke this down their spines, starting from the back of the head. A few downward strokes with gentle hushing makes a firm bedtime signal. If he wakes, he gets more stroking. No tea! If there is real thirst, it can be quenched with water.
3 There may be insecurity – if you are out at work all day, they want their quality time with you and this could be at the expense of your sleep.
I wish you both sweet dreams!
